Australia's premier quiz began the 2000s by changing their set, hostess, and format. And on this show, three challenges intend to take down challenge John Beck as he wants to win the full lot (and, in fact, he was the only champion of the year to play for it). Will he win it all?

They should’ve added the word “new” to the title the following year, 2001. Whilst a lot of people think that 2000 was the first year of the new century, it was actually the last year of the 20th century and 2001 was the first year of the 21st century.

I believe I heard on a later episode with returning champions that it happened at least twice, and Tom won both - I think one of them was for $284k, not sure about the other

@@alexs3187 There's no debate. The first year of the Gregorian calendar (our calendar) began on 0001AD. There was no year 0. Therefore every decade, century and millennium begins with a 1 and finished with a 0.
