Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1906R "Lava" (Heat Be Hot): Review & On-Feet

A few weeks back, Salehe Bembury released his limited collaboration with New Balance called "Heat Be Hot". This pack consisted of two pairs of 1906R, one called "Magma", and the one I'm reviewing today, the "Lava" colourway. This bold and bright pair features a gradient style mesh, silver layers, and a distressed looking midsole. Check out my video and let me know if you managed to score a pair of these as well!

Bronson always takes better care of his fans. He’s had multiple releases of his 99v6s. The resell price went down each time he rereleased them, but I get the feeling Bronson doesn’t give a shit about resale, whereas Salehe seems to only care about what his shoe does on the resale market.

Uhhhh idk about Action taking better care lol sure better than Salahe but it’s damn near impossible to hit Actions NB as well. I hope I can just get one of those 1906’s and I’ll be happy

Both color are fire in person. I’m Glad I was able to hit on magma for retail but I went and paid resell for the lava.

Great review again Sean. Was eagerly waiting for it. I like the Lava but not as much as the Magma pair. I said to myself I wasn’t going to pay resale prices (especially because I feel like we were robbed of a good release) but then I just couldn’t help it - already passed on the Action Bronson last year and regretted it. Paid over the top for two magma pairs but happy I secured them.

Is the cork insole more comfortable than a standard 1906 insole? Do you think it'll break down faster over time? And help with moisture and odor control?

I managed to grab the magma pair on drop day unfortunately they were half size too small. Beautiful shoe in hand and I do like the worn or burned look they have

Didn't even try for these as the 1906 just doesn't sit right on my foot. A great pair but yeah I heard a lot of folks had trouble with the release method.

I love this heat be hot collection but it was just impossible to get. As for the marks on the midsole I always thought they were supposed to mimic scorch marks like it had been in a fire. Fits the theme.

Tbh i think people took what salahe said out of context. Cause when he made that post on insta he said That he tried to get more pairs for this drop keyword: Tried. Which doesn't really mean he did do that but he did try to get more pairs. Which i think people jumped the gun and assumed he added a lot more stock then last times which was never the case really. The shoe tho overall is dope. i like the heat be hot more it almost reminds me of the DTLR "fire sign" 9060. They did not to long ago but in a reverse pattern. i honestly gotta get a second pair of those DTLR 9060s they're so nice with black fits.

These are amazing. I thought about paying resell for them, but the 1906 is not a silhouette i feel comfortable spending that much money on. 990v6, sure, but the 1906 is kinda mid to me(comfort wise).

I’d prefer the Magma colorway over these, but of course I took an L with after discovering my email was received under the junk mail. I won’t be paying for ridiculous resell as I won’t wear these often anyway.

These are great but it’s the other new Salehe cw I really wanted. Totally missed the drop like I do with most NB drops. They don’t serve us UK sneakerheads well at all man.

Salehe keeps messing up his drops. I just stopped trying. Thank goodness the two colorways were too loud for me. Gonna take it easy this year after a frustrating 2023.

Disappointed the way these dropped. Too bad for me as I really like the colorway. Reminds me of either 'Hot Wheels' and T2: Judgement Day when Arnold was being lowered into the 'lava'.

Honestly am I the only one that feels like this collab is super overrated ? Like since when are we liking super flashy colors lol ? Can you guys honestly tell me people would have cared if this was a regular GR ? Still a great vid tho 👍
