Will people finally realise that Bayo was never dead with the nerfs? Now she is just a super fun character to watch and hard one to play. And btw, GJ Salem, that took me back to the old Apex 2013 days.
You can see the ocean of salt pouring out of every player. Salem definitely did his research, his Witch Times were used on obvious player habit parts. Zero's Banana throw to down tilt, Tweek's up air from ledge back on stage, UpB downwards recovery.
Zero's salt was masked by his wonder apparently. He was smiles for most of it and then you could see him ask Salem what the fuck even happened on one of those nasty combo kills. Good gawd though such fire.

silverword111 dude salem beat tweek twice, nairo, zero twice and won the tournament im sorry but taking void to game 5 or beating him once does not compare to taking out 2 of the top 5 in one night.
For me, Bayonetta is the most exciting character to watch at top level. Seeing Salem pull off those long combos and witch time setups was awesome to see.
It's good to see Bayo back in the meta after the nerfs. Now she can be played honestly with most of the cheese removed. And to people who are STILL complaining about Witch Time, notice how pretty much all of Bayo's Witch Time kills happened at high percent. In Smash 4, if you get hit by a counter that high, you're dead regardless of who countered you. It's just that Bayonetta will style on your dead ass worse than how Paul Mitchell styles hair.
I agree but people will always hate moves that are too good witch time can net you a guarenteed ko from almost anywhere (percent and stage position) depending on what the player decides to do. A lot of people hate shine gimps, rest, and wobbling in melee but they just have to deal with them.
considering Salem won Apex 2013 for Brawl over m2k and all of the other well known smashers... not surprising that he knows zero and nairo's play style so well...
I'm still glad there are still people repping bayo after patch, showing she is still good. Great character, but I like how everytime something like this happens, people come out saying she's still the best character (ex. X won a national with Y, imo Y is Top 5 In game) Things like this happen, and while they knew Salem and they had to respect the character. they hadn't really fought a bayo on that level, besides pink fresh. I'm not saying "oh they just played bad that day" cause that's not the case, however I do believe they weren't well-versed in the matchup, meanwhile Salem probably dealt with too many Diddy/Cloud/etc. mu's The games also weren't just handed to him, pay attention to the score, obviously games were close and % Were pretty scary. Salem earned that win, doesn't mean it will be a guaranteed win all the time, even Zero lost games after a years time
Do people even realize that Bayonetta is still balanced BECAUSE of Witch Time? Take it away and she'll have a really hard time killing most characters. Besides her great gimping abilities she either needs to pull of an insane combo or rely on her slow and easy to intercept smash attacks. Salem is just really good with her, those reads while pulling off difficult combos are hard to get and utilizing Witch Time at the right moment is key.
as a Bayonetta main fuck all the haters. She is one of the most exciting characters on screen. her combos aren't boring. she has so many variations she can do. shes incredibly hype and she can still be deadly as hell post-patch. she continues to be a breathe of fresh air to the meta game.
***** Doesn't matter. I think people are starting to see what i saw from the beginning. She's a hype character with tons of cool things. She's also incredibly well designed in terms of animation her walk, her voice acting, her taunts. They're all so stylish and they all represent her very well.

RPanda 13 Bayonetta can combo of a variety of her moves, are you joking? Legitmately what makes her amazing to see is the variation you get. Sonic has no fucking variation and is mostly just homing attack/ spin dash.

Sadly, this is the patch mentality, not just a League of Legends one. Now that a Smash game made by Nintendo can be changed on the fly, everyone wants to whine for nerfs rather than dealing with the matchup, and anyone who uses a character they don't like is the garbage one.
I really wish people still has this mindset in 2018. She has one of the most diverse playstyles, especially noticeable with the top Bayo players. For example: Salem is more precise and patient, Zack is aggressive, Mistake has one of the most devastating punish games out of any player.

Realized that my previous comment made me look like a pre-patch Bayonetta player I played her for a few days, didn't like how OP she was, but I felt like I couldn't pick her back up after the nerf because I couldn't see what she had left. I don't like playing top tiers or low tiers unless I really enjoy them, and try to stick to high or upper mid..

I need explanation on what happened at 7:38. Bat Within afaik is triggered only after a dodge or a late counter. Salem only did a normal get up which's impossible to trigger that.
I'm just sitting here laughing at all the ZeRo/Nairo/Tweek fanboys who keep claiming Bayo is OP or boring just because their precious player lost against Salem. Y'all need to take it and understand Bayo is hard as hell to play as and requires a lot of technical skill as well as good read power. Good stuff to Salem, he's definitely showing the markings of a potential top player.
I can feel all the Bayonetta salt from here...(It's funny that this is after the nerf patch. Her combos are harder to connect/pull off, but apparently she can combo you almost as bad as before. Kinda happy because I thought her combo potential shrunk greatly and she would start to be dropped by a lot of players, but after seeing this......she's fine.)
i'm happy to see bayo doing this stuff, as long as Salem is the only one who can make with that much concistency like he did. Not even 9B, much less Pink Fresh.

Bayonetta isn't that boring, honestly. I'm finding out that at 30% with Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong has the 30%), there's a huge 60-70+% combo you can do that's: Up air > Full Hop Back air > Up air > Full Hop Back air > Sidewards AfterBurner Kick > Witch Twist > Fair 1 > Sidewards AfterBurner Kick > Witch Twist > Up Air.. Bayonetta is rewarded for being creative. Salem is just the most creative usually.
She got nerfed. This was high pressure situations against top players, great reads and following up from the ledge to the top, if you think bayo is boring, you probably just can't adapt lmao

Because you use it too much. The more you press down b with bayo, the less time your opponent is trapped in witch time. So if you miss the counter alot, then the shorter amount of time you'll get when you eventually hit it.

after patch, that stuff is pretty difficult to do. and while others left her since she didn't hand them the victory anymore, very few decided to stay and learn shit with her still. "Doesn't impress me" real talk, you aren't important. who cares.
The reason Salem could even make those pre patch combos still work is because he is a knowledgable player that gets in your head. He was mixing up his combos so well that he could tell which way his opponents were going to di. But, I do agree that witch time is dumb.
when he footstools someone under witch time she gets slowed down too. after she's done with the footstool animation she probably won't have enough time to go for a smash attack.
Oh, I've forgotten this detail! And I also forgot that you need your opponent to stay in a idle aerial pose to force the character to go on a footstool fall animation, which is impossible with Witch Time, since your opponent is attacking!
I definitely don't think she's better than Cloud right now. She wins the matchup, but loses and struggles in more. Maybe in a few months if everyone becomes godlike at gimping Cloud, and he drops a few places.
+Yukicraft cloud will definitely drop as people get better at edge guarding. People sleep on Bayo still somehow. 4 frame up b. Dtilt, witch time, etc. Cloud has already reached his max potential. He's got excellent moves, fair, nair, up air etc. but Bayo is getting better every day.
Bayonetta secondary here! Post patch Bayo is fine! However, her witch time is a bit too much as a counter.... She would be more fair if her witch time duration was based off the knockback of your opponent... For example, witch timing mario's neutral jab is literally a fast witch, not much you can do, but if you witch time Ganondorf's Reverse Warlock Punch, you get sooooooooo much time to punish! it's like using Marth's counter in a way.... anyone agree???
Hmm, I'm not sure. I wonder if it would be useful than since aerials are generally pretty weak so Bayo would only be able to get something decent off of a smash or strong special. As far as I understand it right now the duration is based on the percent of the opponent. I don't see the move as overpowered. Bait it even twice and it is useless for most of the match as far as I know.
I disagree personally. It's just a hard punishing tool that Salem uses perfectly to counter obvious player habits. People will learn how to play around it pretty quickly. But I guess we'll see as time goes on and the meta develops. Certainly looks powerful as hell right now.
BlueUltima on the contrary, Cloud himself isn't broken but his moves are... Limit cross slash is safe on shield, fast start up, low end lag, and he has intangibility at the beginning of the move, and it kills super early.... He's not broken but his moves are busted af
Personally I don't think Bayonetta is broken, it's witch time that needs to be fixed/changed. She's supposed to be a combo heavy character, however there's many characters on the roster who are capable of doing that as well. However it seems completely unfair that Bayo is literally able to freeze the opponent and fully charge a smash attack. Literally any character is gonna die from a fully charged smash attack. Plus it takes no skill to pull off, it's just about timing an opponent attack.
+Xhalmor Find slips in the usage of the move? The move literally has very little cool down. It's unfair to see top level players (such as Zero and Nairo) lose to such a cheap technique. Ranting over.
+Baby Eater The move is strong yes but it can't be abused because it will be weaker if spammed. And please Nairo and Zero (specially zero) have abused broken characters in the past its the part of been a top player.

You have to make it long enough that the player can do something with it and already in that range its already deadly and broken
Is there someone who remember ADHD, mikeneko at brawl? I think they will come back hard at some day like salem. (salem was a legend of brawl, and also ADHD and mikeneko)
I think Otori's skill is not high enough like ADHD, mikeneko. Also more brawl players that were underrated before are salem, kamemushi etc. Speaking about kamemushi he was an amazing wario main at brawl. You can search 'ssbb kamemushi wario' and click the first video.
