What do you think help you to land those jobs without a certification? Typically a connection or maybe a background in IT that carried over really well? Yeah once you start getting certifications, especially the first couple and your active on LinkedIn... Your profile starts blowing up!

Thanks for sharing, amazing insights!!. Which Salesforce certification would you suggest for a Product Manager ?
@SalesforceForEveryone

Honestly I would start with the Admin, then Platform App Builder. From there you'd likely be hired and could work with your employer not determine where they would like you to expand your knowledge.
@duaneatnofroth

Hi, great video! I'm just starting down the Salesforce certification prep road and I targeted the admin cert as my first goal. I was thinking my next goals should be sales and then service certs. Could I get your opinion on that? After that I was thinking app builder and then advanced admin certs. Again if you could give your opinion on that sequence? How much weight do you think that a hiring manager for a Salesforce role would give to extensive IT experience that is outside of Salesforce? Talking multiple decades of system admin and development and application engineering support. Again, super appreciate your content and the quality of your work!
@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 2 года назад
Typically I would recommend going from Admin, to PAB, to UX Designer. The reason is that there is massive overlap in the content on each exam. If you pass the Admin exam you are about 50% ready for PAB, if you pass PAB you are about 50% ready for UX Designer. You can see how efficient that is from a time/energy perspective in getting your first 3 certifications. I would at least start with Admin and PAB, if you want to jump from there straight to Sales Cloud and Service Cloud that can be a fair path especially if you want to turn the heads of consultancies. The Sales and Service Cloud certs are consultant certifications and impact partner score more directly for consultancy partners. As for Advanced Admin thats typically more highly rewarded if you work an internal role at a company not as a consultant. So if you want to be a consultant I would skip the Advanced Admin.

QA roles are available in larger companies and can certainly be a place to start. However there aren't QA specific certifications to my knowledge. Admin, Analyst and Consultant are the main areas for entry level, then you branch to the area you feel most passionate.

Hi Bradley, I'm curious as to why you didn't even mention the Advanced Admin Certification. Is it not really a marketable certification or does it not have a niche in the job market? Just curious to know why it wasn't even mentioned. Thank you for your videos and input!
@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 2 года назад
As far as the number of people who attain it, it's not that popular overall. For consultancies certifications are great because they boost the partner score of the company. The Advanced Admin barely boosts the score at all though and doesn't apply to any specialties. The Advanced Admin is great for someone who wants to be an Internal Admin at a company and show they are dedicated to that path. Also notice it doesn't apply to any of the architect pathways. So anyone trying to become a certified architect will ignore it. trailhead.salesforce.com/en/credentials/architectoverview/ Given that SF has pushed this cert out of its partner scoring and architect paths it simply makes it less attractive for SF talent looking to showoff their knowledge.

It's absolutely achievable! We see people transition and career all the time, I would say it's more common to see mid-career transitioners than it is to see people fresh out of college at this point. You can always find transferable skills from your past experience that can be related into Salesforce careers. @SalesforceForEveryone

To be honest that's not an area I'm well versed in. I'm sure there are companies who value it heavily for the niche. I would assume Sales Cloud would be a more general approach to consulting and Marketing Cloud is of course a separate platform but in incredible demand.

How come so few are talking about marketing cloud or pardot? I was expecting this to be the biggest thing since sliced bread, but not even Salesforce gurus are talking about them. I have only had campaigns and assigning leads to campaigns, but just wondering what those two things actually are as there is very little data, I feel.
@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 2 года назад
Oh that's because those are "specialty" certifications. At Salesforce For Everyone our main focus is helping individuals who are closer to entry-level. If we are talking about the certifications with the most shortage of help that would be Marketing Cloud, CPQ, Field Service Lightning etc... however without the foundational certifications mentioned in this video odds are you won't be able to easily understand more advanced concepts. Also Marketing Cloud and Pardot specifically are 2 completely different platforms. While they are owned by Salesforce, you could be a Marketing Cloud or Pardot expert and know nothing about Salesforce as a platform. This video is focused on getting your foundational certifications in order to break into your first one or two Salesforce roles. Also Admin, App Builder, Dev 1 and UX represent the most popular certifications as these are considered the baseline certifications for understanding the platform as a whole. I hope that makes sense.

@SalesforceForEveryone
@SalesforceForEveryone 2 года назад
Some may disagree, but I would apply after passing the Admin Certification. The thing is that you are getting an offer based on your certification alone, it's a combination of certification and experience, heavily weighted on the experience but needing to have 1 cert to prove baseline understanding and commitment to the career path. I would start applying as soon as you have the first certification and don't overlook LinkedIn branding also, tons of free resources on this at talentstacker.com in the free resources tab. Side note, I wouldn't recommend the Advanced Admin Cert at all, it's not sought after by employers in the SF space nearly as much as Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and the. newly announce Business Analyst cert coming this year!

If you're part of the Talent Stacker program we have a group project that you get assigned to once you have your admin certification. If you already have your cert and some experience with Salesforce, you can look for volunteer positions on sites like catchafire.org.

I gotta admit. This is all so confusing. Trailhead shows tons of different learning materials and modules and but doesnt guide you on which to take and when. You shouldnt have to pay a “SF learning consultant”to teach you how to use the product and resources

Totally agree. This is exactly why we created the 5 day challenge to guide you through wrapping your head around it. TalentStacker.com/Salesforce

Depends on where you are, but in the US we see anywhere from $65k to $80k for most people getting hired after completing the Talent Stacker program. Average salary in October was just under $75,000.

I've received emails from sales force with people's personal info and bomb making instructions attached. When I contacted sales force the Asian guy laughed and hung up watch dealing with this company.

Shaky cam for a video like this is just awful. If you do the zoom in, you don't need to pretend you have a guy shooting with a steadycam. It's going to age poorly

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah we were toying with some effects at the beginning of 2022. Given it's a 2022 specific video it's going to age poorly either way. Shaky cam probably a poor choice, but hey we can get you a job as remote tech pro even if our video skills aren't top notch 👍
