For recordid you can actually just use a text variable. You are wanting to capture the record id from the object which is a mix of numbers and letters. Sorry this reply is WAY late
Thank you so much .. Very helpful video!! I can't tell you how much time I have spent trying to figure out why my Flow was not working and ended up being one simple thing of naming convention for the recordID variable. UGH so frustrating ... Why in all the trailhead and other training videos is this not mentioned!! I am running into another error I have a checkbox field that could or could not be populated at the time the flow starts, if I leave the field blank then upon update I'm getting an error "Error element Update_Current_Topic (FlowRecordUpdate). The flow tried to update these records: null. This error occurred: INVALID_TYPE_ON_FIELD_IN_RECORD: HS2_File Format: 837I: value not of required type". Do you have any advice? Hoping it is a simple fix. :-)
