A lot of fond memories of this place as a kid. Going there this month

It's a shell of what it used to be. I grew up as a kid and a teenager (born in 1958) always looking forward to a Friday or Saturday night with friend's and our girl's.

Where the boardwalk and the dunes are, there used to be a whole row of buildings facing the existing buildings: a huge ballroom/music venue called the Frolics, food places, an auction house, games of chance, an enormous arcade with kiddie rides, pinball machines, skeeball, even old viewers where for a penny, you’d turn a handle and cards would flip to create a “movie”. All swept away in the Blizzard of ‘78. The buildings that are still there had attractions that were a lot more lively than today, again, games of chance, a funhouse with wavy mirrors outside and a fortune teller. The ocean is still the same, though…

I lived @ Atlantic Ave from 1999-2004 was a great place in the spring-summer time but in winter time it’s a ghost town lol but I still in joyed it do to having the place all too myself lol Joe’s playland. Didn’t have to share my favorite arcade game lmao 🤣

There is always the big debate at the beach, as to whether Cristy's Pizza or Tripoli's Pizza is the best. This video goes right by Tripoli's, but stops and talks about Christy's Pizza. So, the camera man must be a Cristy's man.

Boring
