We should just all stop paying. If everyone stopped paying, they could do nothing.

It took me 23 years to pay off my 42,000 student loan debt, probably paid double due to interest but my income was mediocre , but I feel lucky to have a graduate degree, like what I do, and that it wasn't as much as the insane amounts I am hearing about. The usual middle class expected path is not feasible anymore, and these predatory mafia like companies and overpriced schools need better regulation, but who is going to he smart enough to vote progressive? Most people vote against thier own interests and will defend thier right to do so.

Simple. Don’t send your kids to college!!!! My kids will never be able to live on their own. Sallie Mae wants $1000/mo. Two of my kids are unemployed. So interest is accruing. Their credit and mine and suffering. My son tries to find a way to get up every day without killing himself. It should be criminal what colleges cost and how Sallie Mae adds to that misery. If I had known it would be this bad where the payments are ridiculous and the only jobs they can find ,they could’ve gotten without degrees, that pay like crap, I would have strongly discouraged them going .

My thing is, okay, you put all these unemployed students in a lot of DEBT, BUT how in the world will you force them to pay up after finishing school? Students are literally going to school for the REST of their life to avoid paying the debt or filing bankruptcy. In school Deferment boys and girls or join the military to POSTPONE that debt until you're in your grave resting in peace. Lmao

Student loans only work in certain situations, dont use it to cover all expenses, work while going to school or just put off school, I have to take out a private loan cause I apparently make too much for federal aid, which is stupid, but I have to work while going to school and put off getting my degree which should/will lead to a better paying job.

This is a freakin joke. I went to school abt 15 years ago taking out a loan with this company about 11 grand worth ended up being alot more. They expected me to start paying for the loan right out of school when i had no job and then harrassed me every day during all times of the day and night when i couldnt pay for it. I feel bad for anyone who thought they were gonna do good for them self but found out the hard way like i did sallie mae is a joke.

I don't feel sorry for these people. I have paid off many student loans. They should stop piling one on top of the other and work for a while.

loans were small 20 years ago, now they pile interest starting first year of college'
@V5Bs

@@MsValiG They never start 1st year of college. They start after you graduate. Which I understand your point their interests accumulates more quickly. I just paid one off from classes and 2018 and I was shocked to learn the interests had already started so guess in that regard you are correct.

V BBB no they start compounding interest immediately. Not like it used to be at all. You haven’t been a student for a while so you probably don’t know what’s going on. These companies have become literal crooks

The average four year tuition at an American university today is over six figures. It should be tuition free because we pay for these buildings with out tax dollars. Public colleges were free to attend for most of our country's history.
