sounds great, was looking around to find someone playing this tune and found this after watching a few others, this is the one! thanks for posting Brandi, and i've subbed up to catch your other tunes
Thank you so much for this. I’ve just started playing banjo, and beforehand was playing a bit of autoharp. I’d found myself loving the Dmin with the latter, and found this while looking for double d songs for banjo. I’m really enjoying this tuning, and listening to you play!
Nicely done! Its one of those mysterious hypnotic modal tunes thats particularly well suited to clawhammer banjo. Why was Sally sifting sand in the garden? Who is the pig eyed man?
It's perfect!! So few in the states know of the history of the Banjo and how it came from Africa. I love the clawhammer style you play with, as it's the original style of play. Long before the 3 finger style.
So few people know the origins of any instrument. Nobody lectures people about the European origins of piano, guitar, mandolin etc. Most people interested in the banjo know the origins and the blend of African instrument and folk tunes of the British Isles
So few? I had heard the same thing, and I'm not even a musician. Perhaps you're surrounded by people who know more than you imagine, but you just are not aware of it.
