Regarding the whole backstabbing with slice sounds... got to remember this is a game, its not really worth it betraying the others for one or two medals compared to making friends you can team up with for future events and other things like that.

Those random adventurer team asked what kind of boss is in this poison cave. What? It is final, ultimate boss. The invincible one. The worlds finest!

The squid boss fight was actually nerfed, probably because they ran out of budget. The original fight was a lot tougher because the boss was poison resistant (many sea creatures are) and hard to hit. This boss originally had the other two pets that the devs didn't want found, but this reward is only possible if you didn't rely on the clue from the book and found this place yourself. But the fight would be even harder than it is now. The only skill Maple got is indeed psychokinesis. This is actually another exploit because it works by calculating how much hate the target has for you but Syrup has none. This makes Maple not only have a pet but also attain flight, causing the GMs to complain again. "Gigantimax" is a skill Syrup naturally learns and acid rain is a scroll skill she bought before the event. The other 10 silver medals were Sally's. Don't remember what she got for the gold medal she got from the first event. Source: LN

Maple did get a second skill from the event even if it wasn't directly shown in the anime. She picked Fortress, the passive skill mentioned in the chat logs that multiply VIT by 1,5.

Kanade - Is refereed to as Male in the novels but always displayed in a gender fluid manner. A master of puzzles. They are a support mage in game. Sally - Specializes in high speed dodging that is solely based on her personal skill. Many players think its a skill but are generally being mislead in a misinformation mind game. Sally is high speed/damage glass cannon.
