I grew up watching this on channel 4 early-morning. She looked familiar her face looking like Lori from Inch High, Private Eye, and Race Bannon from Johnny Quest.
I like Sally Sargent's design. She's got some traits of Princess Aurora, Daphne Blake, and Alice from Hanna-Barbera's 1966 "Alice in Wonderland (or What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This?)" TV special. Probably because Iwao Takamoto, who designed all three characters, designed Sally here. And the baton-twirler girls at 2:19 and 7:49 look at lot like Fern from the Hanna-Barbera version of "Charlotte's Web!" (Again, same designer.)
@@meganconnell6853, yep. Iwao Takamoto had a very distinct style, no matter where he was working (Hanna-Barbera, Disney, or Terrytoons and Fred Calvert Productions).
This cartoon was produced in 1968 the year Terrytoons ceased production on cartoons; the company didn't go out of business until 3 years later.@@ZakWolf
@@ScorpioBornIn69, there's a Scottish girl who's younger than this characters and has black belts in martial arts (I'm typing this on my XBox One, so I can't open up another tab and get the info without losing what I've typed here, so you'll have to look it up-I apologise.
She looks.a.LOT like.Daphne. Other than the fact that Sally is a blonde...the difference is that she's more self sufficient during an investigation than Daphne and the rest of the Scooby Gang combined.
She also has some visual traits of Alice, from Hanna-Barbera's 1966 "Alice in Wonderland (or What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This?)" TV special. Heck, I can see a bit of Princess Aurora in her design as well (particularly the eyes, the blonde hair and black headband), as Iwao Takamoto designed Aurora as well during his time at Disney.
@@67nairb, yes it was intended as a pilot, but only (probably) aired once or never aired at all when it was supposed to (it was usually aired on local TV stations as filler and as a part of any package of Terrytoons shorts.)
I want the movie looked the way is planned. I can direct Hanna-Barbera's way but I want a beautiful black girl doing more than spying but she can sing her heart off and dance every club her parents ever opened. I can make it animated like it should. thanks H and B.
