She hit his ego by bringing him down from the host to a contestant and made the critical mistake of repeating it Just to add, In a sales pitch they say the first 15 secs are critical to creating a positive impact! She got it all wrong here and opened without the critical line about what is curly tales and why she wanted to know his food preferences! Look at the Gauri Khan interview, the opening was positive and the pitch was perfect! Salman is Salman, but here you've got no one else to blame!!

Actually, he gave the permission because to teach her a lesson & pass a message to all those dreaming, having a desire to interview him..
