SALMON FISHING /OUT ON GEORGIAN BAY 🎣😍

Its late August 2023 and I'm out with my buddy Rob out on Georgian Bay trying to catch a few salmon for the smoker. This salmon was caught on a Luhr Jensen Ever glow fly and a 11" Gibbs Flasher. The trolling speed was around 2.2-2.4 mph with the focus on the bottom for the salmon aggression bite.

The drag was set pretty tight but the salmon pull several hundred feet of the Okuma reels.

when you club them are you trying to actually kill it then or just stun it?

These fish are going home with me. I hit them so I don't get a hook in my hand. I've been hooked before and it quit painful to remove the hook.

I also have a cooler in the boat with ice packs to keep the salmon meat firm. Georgian Bay salmon are quit tasty on the barbeque and the smoker. Check out my smoked salmon video I did a week ago. The smoked salmon is very good
