Question...what exactly does the hex nut adjuster on the back of the boot do? I have these boots and not sure what position it sb in. Great video btw.

It's an adjustment for flex. It's called the "power spine" feature.

What exactly does it do? Does it make the shoe less rigid than a conventional flex adjuster?@@maximusmiles8435

Been checking these out, nobody can explain what the performance of the boot is, s it better why? Get in your edge better? Less foot fatigue? What’s the performance factor? Just because it’s convenient to tighten who cares ??

Honestly I don't see the usefulness of the BOA system for ski boots. Unless you have a very low volume foot in a medium volume ski boot. My lower buckles just hold enough pressure to keep them in place, and that's plenty. Any more and my foot feels squeezed. Like a migraine for my foot. Ski boots if picked properly for fit, molded, and a custom foot bed. You shouldn't have to use much pressure over the forefoot. BOA is a great system when replacing laces. Otherwise for a ski boot it's a gimmick.

If that cable frays and then breaks on the hill, the skier would be screwed, so I'll never buy one.

@Puzzoozoo - I understand your concerns. Please check out the BOA website to read more. BOA has had over 50,000 hours of design, development, and testing in collaboration with the world’s leading ski brands and athletes. The cable lace you are referring to has a core made from nineteen strands of stainless steel, wrapped in an additional 90 strands and a tensile strength greater than 254 kg. It has a coating over the cable to prevent fraying. Will see how it holds up this year.

which it well never do. You are more likely to break a binding. Don't buy one, no one cares.

You Yeah, cars can totally break down out on the road, so I will never get one of those either. Way too risky. 😂But seriously, just skiing to the bottom and getting it fixed seems like a no brainer to me. It's not like you will be walking down or anything. I have a pair of the BOA 110's and they are super sweet.
