Screenplay wasn't adequate: 1.) no woman driving instructor would go dressed out in such skimpy clothes (I've _actually_ lived in the West for 35 years, and I've observed), the physical proximity necessitated by the role would preclude it; 2.) if the kiwi girl was so much into her Indian hubby's culture as to have adapted a new name (not just surname), perhaps even converted to Hinduism, the relation between them (at least initially) should've been portrayed as being very warm; 3.) in the different party scenes, there ought to have been scenes of Madhu & Basant's wife exchanging friendly banter -- like the latter asking, "Is my husband learning well? at home he can't even fix an omelette..." -- and Basant & Madhu's Bengali husband doing the same: the lack of all of this stilted what, otherwise, could've been a fairly nice movie.
