That cardigan looks fantastic! Both the just finished and the just started! And that westknits shawl, man, it’s still amazing! So happy to see you here again so quickly!
Emily you work magic with your colour choices! I always enjoyed Meanwhile at the Castle and am I'm happy you are continuing to share your beautiful knits and thoughts with us.
I am loving listening to you while I knit. And you knit beautifully. I was also a lifelong crocheter, but I was drawn to knitting by socks. I look forward to seeing future videos.
I adore your pod cast and your sister as well…I love the cardigan, I think it is quite lovely even without the bottoms, because it really falls right down. I’d wish I could be as fast as you all are, but I agree I love knitting sweater the best
I have such a similar story of starting with crochet and starting to knit because I wanted the look of knit sweaters, especially stranded colorwork!! So I still love knitting sweaters best....I always feel like beautiful yarn just deserves to be a sweater, lol...like a sweater is a yarn's highest calling 😆!!
Another fun episode, Emily! Thanks for introducing a new to me dyer. The advent yarn is gorgeous. I can’t wait see the sweater! I love your finished sweater, too. The color is beautiful 😍
So lovely to see you again Emily. I always enjoyed your podcasts with Deborah and was so disappointed when you stopped producing them. I also want to thank you for sharing your lovely knitting and interesting book reviews since I am also an avid knitter and reader. Love, Jennie Nel, South Africa
Oh wow do I love your finished cardigan! Your other projects are ones I look forward to seeing and hearing more about. I'm a big fan of Jane Harper, I'm so glad you've discovered her. 😊
I love that your husband isn't a big fan of handmade socks, because my husband is not excited about wearing them either! I'm going to make some and tell them he has to wear them to church on Sundays! That's brilliant!
Emily your Cardigan is gorgeous. Good on you for trying to find the recipe for a perfect fit cardi. Jane Harper is an excellent Aussie author. I've read The Dry, Force of Nature, The Lost Man, and I've reserved her latest book Exiles at my local library. I must read The Survivors. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm so enjoying your episodes Emily
Such a great find in coming across your podcast. I loved watching and am excited to see your new cardigan. Such pretty soft colors and love the idea of using Suri Alpaca in your shawl.
Nice to meet you here on youtube.First time commenting to you. How do you do.😊 You have comfortable yet strong positive energy to make me feel motivated. Your select yarn is breathtakingly beautiful(cafe creation's red colorway)for your cardigan. I checked the shop but no longer selI. look forward to watching your new episode.Thank you.
I was pleasantly surprised when I opened RU-vid and saw another episode. You motivate me while I am on my bike exercising to want to hurry up so I can get to my knitting. Thankful for you.
I wasn't interested in the west shawl design you're making, but seeing it in your colors it's really beautiful! Love your talent in choosing color, you're an inspiration.
Enjoy listening to your podcast. Doing a great job with explaining your project. There is a lot of help just in the reasons why you are doing what you are doing with your knitting. Makes me think about my project as well.
I’ve just discovered your podcast and am loving it. Jane Harper is great (I’m also an Australian 😊) and I would highly recommend The Dry and its sequel. The Dry has also been made into a movie with Eric Bana and it’s amazing.
Hooray! I'm so glad you're already back!!!! Your sweater is gorgeous on you!!! And if I ever make the fragmentation shawl I will for sure line up my stripes like you have. Those are the ones I like seeing and am drawn to. And I have some spruce yarn. Hmmm I wonder if it's dk. I'd like to knit it. And thanks for the book recommendation. I just got it on my Libby. Thanks! Hope you do this weekly! Love ya! ❤
Great podcast! Your cardigan is gorgeous and the color suits you perfectly! And thanks for the book recommendations, I went straight to my library and placed a hold on last week's. Can’t wait to give it a listen.
You are talking me into the Fragmentation shawl. It caught my interest the other day but decided to cast on the Eyelet Burst shawl instead, but this one may be next.
Love your Koivu it looks lovely on you and love the colour. I also liked Ririko's other pattern you showed us the menuet. Could you talk to us about that Emily, I looked up the pattern and the project comments, some say it was a little tricky, others said a great pattern. I would love a precise by you if it is possible. I like the idea of your shade cardy making it a basic design with your "numbers". I would like to do that with cardyigans and socks. I cannot wear jumpers. Love the Fragmentation shawl as well, the Suri does make it. The book sounds really good, will try and get it at the library. I have read "the dry" I liked it. It was also made into a movie. It maybe on Netflix.
It was fun to see another Podcast so soon! I also have the D & D Advent from this last Christmas and it is, I think, my most favorite one I’ve ever had! You can’t go wrong with roses and sparkle yarns! I’m waiting to get the perfect inspiration for a pattern to knit. I’m very excited to see the progress on your cardigan. I love and trust your book recommendations, so am looking forward to downloading that. Also, I hope you enjoyed our beautiful Oregon Coast! I live about an hour inland from the Lincoln City area.
We stayed in Lincoln City and really enjoyed it. My favorite moment in Oregon was seeing whales in Whale Cove on my birthday. It’s such a gorgeous area! I’m excited to hear what you use your advent for. Isn’t it just stunning? ❤
There’s a really cute yarn shop in the Portland area called Close Knit Yarns I think. I have been there several times but it’s still over an hour from my house. I live in the Salem area and the one here is called Wild Knits. It has a pretty good selection. Is there one in Oregon City?
@@beckibarker8317 I go to Coastal Yarns in Cannon Beach, Wild Knits in Salem (just discovered), For Yarn's Sake in Beaverton, & Knotty Lamb in Forest Grove. We have so many knit shops, but those are my favorites.
Emily, your red cardigan is gorgeous!! All of your projects are beautiful and I like the book recommendation segment as well. I loved watching you and Deborah and I’m so glad you are back with your own podcast. Can’t wait for your next video! ❤
Emily, I am enjoying your vidcast so much! Fabulous projects as always! I watched Meanwhile from day 1, and I understand and appreciate change as a natural progression. As we enter our next chapters in life, it is so nice to remain flexible. Thanks for sharing your time and expertise with us.
Emily, that red cardigan is a gorgeous color for you! I really like it. I do hope that you and Deborah can get together once in a while for a podcast as you work it together so well. One thing about doing it separately is not having to haul your stuff over to the other's house and you don't have to try to coordinate schedules. Once a week or a fortnight is good. Episodes don't go so long either. While I watched all of the videos of Meanwhile at the Castle, I had to watch them in parts sometimes. Not complaining, just a fact. I thoroughly enjoy them. Thanks for the book review as well. We read a lot at my house, too. Nice to not veg out in front of the TV. Looking forward to next time. Glad you are designing a new sock pattern. I recently used the cuff of your Candy Floss Socks on a pair of mine.
Thank you for your book recommendation. I enjoy mysteries, but so often if I try an author I don't know, I am disappointed with the sex and gore and I send the book back to the library unfinished. Your Fragmentation Shawl looks beautiful. I had no interest when I saw the original, but now I can see how pretty it can be.
Your new cardigan (gorgeous by the way) matches your glasses. Have you read any of the books in the Elm Creek Quilt series? I think there are like 20+ in the series and am on book #6 and as a crafter including quilting I’ve found it to be very enjoyable.
Hi Emily. In your agmentation shawl, are you holding suri with your scrap yarns too....or just using the suri on every other row. It's going to be gorgeous and squishy. ❤ Thank you.
Your reddish sweater is gorgeous and I think you are too critical of yourself. You mentioned helical and some other yarn row changing, what is the difference? I thought your sleeve was great, what is wrong with some pooling as you say in the colors? You seem to be one of the fastest knitters I've ever seen. So glad you are coming into your own podcast, missed you. R
