8:11 Those were broken lines. You can drive through broken lines. It is solid lines that you can't drive through. Drive through the gaps. The line is there to guide traffic turning (2 lanes) right.

The streets were originally laid out so a team of horses pulling a wagon could turn around.

Actually they were just laid that way because the reference map showed wide streets so Brigham Young made them wide. He then said you could make a u turn with a wagon.

7:15 If you find yourself coming up to these pedestrian lights, don't stop, but be cautious of the pedestrians. If you stop, and others don't, you make it dangerous for the pedestrian. Especially if they feel obligated to go since you stopped. Others likely don't have the same intentions of stopping. The people behind you may not expect you to stop either. Which makes it dangerous all around.
