In this vid I break down how to catch SALTWATER fish. This is the second part of a 2 part series on how to catch SALTWATER fish. The first was how to locate and this is how to catch! ENJOY!
This is an awesome video for beginners or someone like me, who is planning trips to Florida to do some kayak/beach fishing. Exactly what I need to get pointed in the right direction. THANKS!
Really good detail about what lures to use and how to use them. I never thought about using the soft plastics on a popping cork. I'll give that a try my next time out. I also never knew about the long pause technique for the suspending bait. The top water has to be my favorite lure. Nothing gets the blood going like a snook popping the lure 3 feet into the air on a miss. I completely agree that the top water is best for low light morning and evening. A tip for walking the dog technique, don't let the lure jump out of the water. If you twitch it haphazardly the lure will skip up out of the water and ruin the presentation. I've had much more success keeping it in the water during the entire retrieve and never stopping.
Wow! Great video! I love saltwater fishing, but I also tend to "overthink" most things, so I appreciate your "keep it simple" philosophy, not to mention your specific recommendations. Thank you!
Never got a damn thing with lures. The rig you showed worked really good tho, havnt got skunked with it an used it 5 or 6 trips. Thanks alot man, really helped
Really appreciate your videos--especially the level of detail you cover. I haven't saltwater fished in about 45 years, but you're getting me interested in trying it again. I've also shared your videos with friends from as far away as Charleston, SC. Thanks again for making these videos that share your expertise!
I recently took on the hobby of fishing on the kayak. You have helped me alot on where to look for the fish. Unfortunately the only thing I’ve caught with the GULP is a catfish. I been doing better with the live shrimp but I hate depending on the shops having them🤦🏻♀️. What am I doing wrong?!! Lol I would like come home and watch your videos after my fails..watching you catch something soothes my fish depression 😂
I just started fishing. Caught 3 flounder off Kiptopeke beach last week thanks to your Berkeley gulp recommendation! Going to try the popping cork soon. stoked! Really enjoy the videos!
Thanks for all the info you put out in your videos. I am getting ready to go to VA Beach on Labor day. I'm hoping to have a good week fishing the surf. I'll have my dog with me so I'm not sure they will let me on the pier with her. Your advise has been great for buying the right tackle.
I like your simplified approach to the inshore fishing. I see the GULP will be my go to bait. I like your lure choices. Good Luck great fishing to you.
Going to Virginia Beach the first week of July for the week to go fishing never fished that far south before any advice you may have I would greatly appreciate I’ve been watching caught a few of your videos lately really enjoy them
Pretty cool video. I have been fishing from Williamsburg to Sandbridge and you were spot on. I throw more swim baits than gulps though. Sweet video young man
Thanks for posting this it was a big help and answered a lot of questions I had. I would love to go fishing with you guys one day that would be awesome. Keep up the great work and thanks again.
Those gulp baits are killer! I've not caught so many fish since I started using those. I mean the minnows, the squid, the shrimp, the pearl whites and others they ALL work. I mean on good days I'll catch anywhere from 25 -50 fish in 6-7 hours. Newport harbor
Very informative especially with me living in the 757. I am a basic bottom fisherman and I want to get into working plastics for hookups. Any public shore areas to fish in the Beach/Chesapeake/Norfolk area that don't get super crowded? I never been to Rudee because I always hear it gets crazy crowded and with me coming from Suffolk I don't want to get there and can't fish due to a crazy crowd. Thanks for all the helpful videos.
Very cool video, thanks man! Funny thing is we went fishing with my 6 years old daughter the other day and she had a kiddie Barbie fishing rod and I had much better gear lol, guess who caught a snook?!?! :) Well yeah, she did
thank for this video im going to be 56 just now want to learn how to fish can not see the link on all the different lures you were talking about so been writing down a lot on your video you talked about if you direct me to the link that would be cool going to hit the bait store tomorrow im sure ill drive them crazy thanks again ill give you an up date
I live in the northeast on the long island sound. What fish that he talks about in the south relates to a fish in the north like bluefish or striped bass?
Great tips, thanks for sharing your experiences. I’ve never used Berkeley PowerBait . Do you keep the lures in water so they last and retain their scent? If so where can I buy those tubs you use? Many thanks. Looking forward to more videos
Try Slayer Inc. paddle tails. They have a new xxl size that is simply awesome. Made in Jacksonville. The baby bass color, yes in saltwater, catches them up. Snook, redfish, etc. Order directly from the Slayer inc. website.Rigged on a weighted hook, 1/8, 1/4oz hook. I like owner owner brand weighted hooks...good luck!
I’m in the OBX this week for spring break and I can’t catch a fish to save my life! The fish see me and they have no fear. 😂😂😂. Will the fish stay dormant after a Nor’easter?
Great video. How do you feel about powerbait verse gulp? They both can be had in similar sizes. We use powerbait in Canada for walleye and wondering if you have tried them to compare?
The berkley live shrimp and the jerk bait .... am i suppose to through it in and wait like with actual live bait or through and reel in like a spinner ??
Depends on the fish you're going for. I like catching bass and halibut so I sink mine to the bottom and reel it in or pop and reel it. Sometimes I'll use different techniques to see what's working that day.
Mick McMacIntyre The one in Daytona beach has em by the boatload, 1/8 ounce all the way to 3/8 ounce. I think you can call the store and ordered them directly from the store. I’m not sure but it’s worth the try.
Brandon Cosme gulp alive if you’re asking the brand. They only come in 3” and 4” if you’re asking the size. White or new penny if you’re asking the color. 🤷🏻♂️
