This video reviews a Bestway Saluspa Inflatable Hot Tub purchased in December of 2022. In the video the hot tub is cleaned, examined, and a real general review of the overall purchase. So Far I am happy to say that the tub is holding up to my expectations.
The Hot Tub gets to a max temp of 104F and maintains very well in the summer months. In the winter it reaches 104F and maintains pretty well, Running the bubbles when its 20F or lower seems to lower the temp a bit faster. But usually its good for a hour long soak if not more in the winter!
We use the tub often and it does accumulate some debris on the bottom a vacuum may help. Cleaning / exchanging the water is helpful as well, in this video the tub is cleaned and renewed with fresh well water. The Rust does clean up after rinsing the filter a few times initially. I should probably do that more frequently but you know how that goes.

How was the energy bill in the winter? And what temperature did you leave it on when not in use?
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 9 месяцев назад
It’s weird because in the winter I noticed 70-80 additional per month at 104F. Sometime if I knew it wouldn’t get used for a few days I’d drop it to 99F. Then all summer long it seemed to be almost the same maybe a little less I guess we were running some window unit ac’s so probably was cheaper. We’re in Michigan where temps were between 13-35F all winter long.

We just bought one and your video is super helpful. 1. Do you put air in the bottom of the tub? It looks like there is a flip top receptacle for air but I can’t be sure what it’s for? 2. What is the outside shell (which you didn’t show) used for? I’m not sure if it goes around the bottom outside of the tub or around the outside top? But there is already a cover so I’m just not sure what that outside layer is for. Thank you
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 6 месяцев назад
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. The flap on the bottom of the tub is only to drain the tub. There is no air in the bottom just the walls and top(cover).

2.) the outside shell? I’m not entirely sure what you’re talking about. Did your tub come with an additional piece?

Does the insulation underneath help ? I was planning the same thingm
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 7 месяцев назад
I believe I think I does help, the bottom is thin but there is some padding on the tub bottom, I was worried that the cold under the deck would steal my heat. I also would do it if I put it on the ground. It also adds some extra cushion for the tub bottom.

What's underneath and where do you buy it
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 7 месяцев назад
I put down 2” of foam insulation because I was worried about loosing heat from beneath, the floor of the tub is not very thick it does have some padding. Sometimes the foam sticks to the tub, I may put a blanket in between tub and foam to help prevent that. But I think this helps I got it from Lowe’s.

Hi there, Thank you so much for making this video. You’ve helped me decide if I want to buy one of these tubs. I think I will! One question for you, do you have it out all winter? We live in Ontario, Canada so our winters are very cold, sometimes -30 degrees Celsius. Wondering if it can withstand that and not freeze if the heater is left on?
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 4 дня назад
No problem glad that I could help, in the owners manual it does mention something about not going below I think 14°F you should read the owners manual of the tub you’re interested in and be aware of what is stated. Also this is from the manufacturer regarding winter use: bestwayusa.com/blog/4-tips-for-winterizing-your-inflatable-hot-tub.html I wish I could give you an answer regarding the temperatures you mentioned unfortunately it does not get that cold for that long very often at all where we live. I’m sure I’ve neared the 14°F and a little below it before in my case with no problems, I just want you to be educated and know that I’m not certain how it would go.

When they give dimensions (example: looking at the SaluSpa Monaco which is 85"x28". So is that the internal seating dimensions or the overall width at 85" and height at 28"? Thanks!

@michigantreetops 4 месяца назад
So I own the saluspa Ibiza amzn.to/49QF9GF and it measures 72”x72” outside to outside, however online it said it’s actually 71”x71”. I feel like mine maybe has slouched or may have a little too much water in it causing a slight slouching outward, But when I read the product dimensions on the website I think they are talking about outside dimensions rather than internal seating dimensions. You could call the manufacturer to make double sure before purchasing one.

During the cold winter months ,could the heater keep the water temperature above 90° ?
@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 7 месяцев назад
Good question, my experience was that the top on and I placed 2” foam board over top that inflatable topper. If was able to maintain the 104F However with top off it does loose temp fast. Id estimate temp falls to 95 within 40 minutes depending on temp and the bubble option seems to take heat away faster. I tend to relax mostly and use bubbles sparingly in winter months. But I honestly like getting out of the tub at 96-99 degrees F it leaves me comfortable when going inside.
@adamgerald849
@adamgerald849 7 месяцев назад
The bubbles blow air from outside into the water so they cool it down fast if it's cool outside. And it takes about 2° per hour to heat up with the top on. If you want to use it when it's cool out you should buy some extra insulation to put around it to help. It's 50° right now and it's taking all day to heat up which is normal but it's at 96° right now at 5pm so it should be hot enough by night time. It's only a 120v heater so it will take forever to heat it up to 104° and you'll probably have to start the day before. I just turn mine on Friday night before bed so I know it'll be ready Saturday night.

I live on the east coast of FL and thinking about getting one of these. I could definitely use the heat function for the few months of “cooler” weather we get but I don’t think I’ll want to use the heat function for 9 months out of the year. Can you run the jets and bubble functions without using any heat?
@michigantreetops

I believe you can I just went out and check mine, I can turn the heat icon off and leave the pump running. I then ran the bubbles while the heat was turned off. You could also turn the heat way down that way if it gets cold it can still warm the tub some what.

@michigantreetops
@michigantreetops 5 месяцев назад

@Lt.ShinySides
@Lt.ShinySides 3 месяца назад
Bromine is a sanitizer that can be used in hot tubs instead of chlorine. It's more stable at higher temperatures, has less odor, and is resistant to sunlight. Bromine is available in tablets, powder, or liquid form. The ideal bromine level for a hot tub is between 3-5 parts per million (ppm). The number of tablets needed depends on the hot tub's volume and current levels. Bromine tablets can take up to a week to dissolve.
