www.FTV.com/videos MILAN - Continuing the luxurious/aristocratic trend that seems to be making its mark at Milan Men's Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 - 2013, Salvatore Ferragamo traded in its more casual elements for something more dressy--but also darker. The slithery, sneaky villain its rearing its ugly head at this show where male models skulked down the runway while haunting piano music played in the background. Designer Massimiliano Giornetti said that the label is based on a black and white snapshot but the mood appeared to be much darker, in both the clothes and the cloudy backdrop. The clothes themselves were structured, dressy, and not so colorful, in stark contrast to the womenswear of the cheerful Spring/Summer 2012 season. Tailoring was refined, though colors were on the dark side (navy blues, pinstripe grays, and black, of course) while fabrics ranged from soft velvet to speckled wool and black trench coats made a noticeable appearance.
