John was on tape talking about Sammy like Sammy was some push over and talked about killing Sammy. That was the end of the road for Gotti and Sammy did the right thing by saving his ass after John backdoored him.

Interesting that Sammy only did six years total for all his murders and beatings and who knows what else he was involved in that he never admitted to. The authorities were so determined to nail down Gotti that they basically let Gravano go free with a small jail sentence. Ironically Sammy ended up with a lengthy prison sentence anyway because he couldn't stay away from the crime life and got caught running drug ring. Gotti was the top guy so there was no one for him to rat on to keep himself out of jail. The other thing I find interesting is the families of these men who seem to be fine with having murderous criminals for father's and never tried to distance themselves from these losers but rather seek to profit from the crime life of their fathers and speak of them like they were upstanding citizens.
I think Sammy was wrong in what he did, and even he said that if Gotti apologized for talking behind his back, he would have never did rat. But as we all know he did. I also believed he saved John . He said that he made a list to kill off the retaliation once John was assassinated, but ripped it up. What both these guys did was wrong. What they both did changed the families forever. And in my opinion made them stronger. So, I think that this whole ordeal got the families legitimate businesses that they can live on, and run smaller rackets on the side. They have built and huge enterprise already , and don't need nothing else. They are still here, silent and operating at full capacity . No doubt.
He is not a rat, how? cause he was yes snitching, but was on another family and it was not on his. We all commit mistakes and what not, but don't say some thing that is not true about some one. I am not defending him, I am giving my honest opinion.
