Salzburg World Heritage - a special value for humanity
Not only is Salzburg rich in sights, the city on the Salzach also has a long history as a metropolis of culture and the arts. The cultural heritage of the Baroque city has its origins in the lively exchanges with neighboring states to the south, and in particular Italy.
Salzburg was known as a melting pot of northern and southern European cultures and arts. Craftsmen and artists have been coming to Salzburg since the dawn of time. Many Baroque buildings, such as the Cathedral of Salzburg, are due to Italian architects, such as Vincenzo Scamozzi and Santino Solari.
