Sam Heughan OPENS Up About FILMING Intimate Scenes.. 

I really think the show is beautiful. It shows the horrors that people went through and still go through like rape and all that but his scene was the most brutal I’ve ever seen on TV, and even as an advocate who works with victims of sexual assault, it made me queasy. I couldn’t imagine him having to act out that is trauma and I really hope he got the support in the end that he deserved.

Wow to take 5 Seasons to get help‼️Well I truly appreciate the work they did before the coordinator, you would never know they needed it. Unpopular opinion: the two delivered far better love and sex scenes when that "intimacy coordinator" wasn´t around yet. Since the sixth season I honestly find the love scenes between Jamie/Claire and Roger/Brianna a lot more awkward, cringy and no longer engaging at all. I love rewatching Season 1 (as most fans do), but not the later years.

Hell, I was uncomfortable during the rape/torture scene. I can only imagine how the actors felt. Interesting that we've heard from Sam but not Tobias Menzies; I wonder how he handled it. I think it would have been even more difficult to be the torturer than the torturee.

Wait to see outlander again😅 and to see Sam again I can't wait I am thrilled that is coming on in June

Jamie wasn't handcuffed in the torture/rape scene with BJR despite what narrator says. The show writers did follow the book in this respect in that Jamie gave his word not to resist BJR in order to save Claire's life.

The torture scenes were too realistic and I felt unnecessary! Having not read the books, it was so unexpected and horrifying to watch those scenes! It really messed me up for a long time. I think the people in charge “got off” seeing how far they could manipulate the actors, who seemly trusted the director(s). I haven’t been able to watch the series since! In my opinion, I don’t think it’s necessary to show everything just for the sake of realism or staying true to a book!!!! 🙄 Maybe one day I’ll get back to watching!

This show Outlander, shows us what happens in the 17 century. Jamie is from the 17 century, his wife now is from the 20 century, she going through a high pillar of concrete. Jamie and Claire are now married, and they have quite the future. They are sexually intimate partners, it’s like this over and over, I love it, besides, a 17 century story. It’s sure got me hooked, now I watch it everyday, Jamie is my favourite and only man here, and back than. Hi is adorable and good looking with Blue eyes and Blond hair. He is from Scotland. Gentle man 6ft 4in slim. I love him. Thank You ❤

I'm appalled that it took 5 seasons for a show that's essentially a soft-core porn, to FINALLY hire an Intimacy Coordinator. These books have been around for decades. An IC should have been hired and on-set since day 1.

Conclusion: Sam hired the intimacy coordinator - who was already a friend/acquaintance of his from the theater (so he already knew her for a long time) just in the season when his wife is pregnant and, therefore, to protect Cait's body more and the intimate scenes that both did that season because she was having sex scenes while pregnant and this has to be done with more care and caution since her body was more sensitive and I imagine that like any woman, Caitríona should not want to be seen naked by millions of cameras and with a lot of people on the sets being pregnant and not even Sam wanted to let her body be exposed so much, that must be uncomfortable imagine doing scenes like that while pregnant. And, of course, Sam also said that it was to help the younger actors in their most intimate scenes, anyway, he could have already managed to get this intimacy coordinator to have already been working on the intimate scenes of the series much longer, after all, It's been 5 seasons without her......

"She always got me excited"? headlined the thumbnail. What a joke. All we heard about was how Heughan DIDN'T get excited, because he felt uncomfortable with all the nudity and intimacy. What a cheap click bait. I give you a thumbs down for being dishonest and your site is now top of my Black List.

I can see where Sam had a tough time with these brutal scenes😢i think they went too far. I wonder how the other actor Tobias felt about these scenes. Im disappointed it was taken too far.

The torture episode comes down to producers laying on us viewes their own psychopathology. It is simply sick! An abusive cruelty on a captive audience for even if many of us forwarded such pathologist sadism, the producers kept rubbing it on us on subsequent episodes with pieces and bits of flashbacks one more gruesome than the other. Cero respec for the viewers’ tolerance threshold of psycho sadistic graphics. Shame on them producers.

Which fans liked the nudity?? I don't know ANY. Not one. I have seen the series 5 times and ALWAYS fast forwarded those scenes, the rape/torture too. I recommended that others do the same, who otherwise would've never watched the show. I felt very uncomfortable for the actors cause I know that they hate it. They want to ACT, not sexually abused. Outlander has a fascinating story, breathtaking scenery, a mesmerising score and a brilliant script- there was absolutely no need to downgrade it to a soft-porn level. Shame on the first directors. Happy to see they have cut down on the sex scenes massively.

That scene is very horrific!

To be honest, I’d started watched several years ago, when within under 15 minutes Claire was about to be raped, I turned it off. For personal reasons I can’t watch violence of that caliber. I gave it another shot and frankly fast forwarded through the most brutal scenes. I love the series but it’s unfortunate that brutality couldn’t have been less graphic. Honestly, the imagination knows what’s happening without having it so nightmarishly in your face. I do love Jamie and Claire though.

I think that torture cell was unnecessary. The movie would not lose anything without that episode. I find this episode too traumatic for the psyche. It's like a scene from a horror movie which was inserted into a good movie to spoil good impression.

The Wentworth prison scene was the worst in the entire 10 years of Outlander. I had a nightmare when I saw it. As far as the IC. The show was better without one. Jamie and Claire had so much on-screen chemistry that did not need one I hated season 5. It was so out of character for the two actors. Why mess with perfection?

Rubbish, Sam has always felt uncomfortable doing sex scenes…each scene can go on for hours until the director is happy with the result…if anyone thinks these two are on together then think again because nothing could happen when they’re surrounded by film for hours on end and still feel aroused by each other…I don’t think so
