This is a man who has a lot of pain in his life. He will be ok. With age comes wisdom. I met the love of my life in 2016. He is from Oregon, I Ohio, we met in the Florida Keys where we live today. He drove those miles to Ohio from the Keys to tell me how much he loved me. The good Lord has a way of taking a broken heart and filling it until it overflows so much you couldn't hold all that love and joy, it just keeps pouring out in everything you are....

I've often thought "I would give it all back" just to go back to early 2016. For a multitude of reasons. It had so much potential. This song hits home, but we gotta move on.

2015 was the worst year of my life. My Beloved Mother passed 2 days after Christmas. Broke up with a man who treated me well but not good enough. Everyone else saw it but me. Lost one of my jobs which put me in major financial stress. Forward to February 2016. I met a wonderful man exactly 2 months after Mom was gone. I feel that she sent him to me. Knowing he'd do anything in his power to keep me happy. He fulfilled everything that I wanted, needed. Hard worker. Kind, gentle, loving and so wonderful to my children. Few months later, I was having doubts. I felt I didn't give myself enough time between partners. Needed time to myself. I broke it off with him and broke his beautiful heart. I was too selfish and self absorbed to see what I had lost. Fast forward to 4th of July. I was at a party where he was also. We got back together. But it's not the same. He's guarded. Don't blame him really. I will do anything and everything to show him my love is true. Moral of this story, don't throw away the heart that is true. Don't make my mistake. It SUCKS! Thank God we can’t do that because I would have been transformed in an ocean lolllll In my case, it is better to let the tears out 😉. The lyrics are totally like Sam... 2016 was a horrible year for my husband and I but we came out stronger.

I’m at a point in my life where I wish I can make amends with all the people I hurt. When I heard this song it just makes me think of them and hope that they are safe healthy and happy.

This is what I listen to when I need a reminder of how good my relationship is. I used to be a bachelor, thinking I would never have a family but old habits die hard.

I love the wordplay on "wrangle all my sins" in the bridge near the end. Driving 1000 miles almost seems too easy a sacrifice for love, until the imagery turns it into a cattle drive as he offers to "pack 'em up and haul 'em all back home to you". This song is about the wrestle, like Jacob and the angel, to be a better man.

awesome song, sam hunt is amazing and doesn't get enough credit, so creative. even if he's not "traditonal" his sound is unique and refreshing to hear someone sing about something other than margaritas and trucks, well done sam.

Started dating her at 2016, we’ve had an amazing relationship, with beautiful memories with that, also times of deep pain, now it’s a bit complicated but God i wish I could go back to 2016 and embrace those moments where is was just us against the world.

Makes me tear up every time, story of my love life, but i had to go through it all to become the man I am today, no regrets but I sure would love to relive all those moments again, I'd embrace every second.
