I've looked and found there is nothing but, DAMN good, feel good , tell a story like it should be told Amazing songs under his belt. Writes for himself and others as well. I am trying to find flaw with him and it is just not there. Look out men of country music this one is BIG! Keep the hits coming Sam! You are so Blessed. I can not wait to hear what is next
Man you always inspire me to keep going even when I've had the worst day ever I hope you read this I love you if I could bring one person back from the dead it would be you and I mean it plus I'm ten years old and I've been listening to your music from four years old
As far as selling songs- Tim Mcgraw's song-Back at mama's- was written by the Cadilac Three- Unfortunately, at least around my neck of the woods, they don't get any airplay. I love 'em.
Thanks for the great love and support you show me as a special fan of mine,I hope you won’t stop listening to my music, and thanks for your sincere Kindly text me on my email address for more updates on my upcoming show (samhunt0092@gmail.com)
.....what?! ha. I'm not much of a keith urban fan, but he is definitely extremely talented. he has a great voice and is a very, very good guitarist. sam hunt knows a few chords on the guitar (he isn't even a mediocre guitarist...) and has a pretty decent voice. he should be taking notes from keith urban. kid has NOWHERE NEAR the talent that keith urban has. this cover is good, but he's not even in the same discussion as keith urban when it comes to talent.
Nai Kavs right. cover in the sense that keith urban is the one who produced the song though. same situation with chase rice writing 'cruise', eric paslay writing 'barefoot blue jean night,' etc etc etc. I call it a cover because he's not the one with the song on the radio -- it's keith urban's song because keith urban has the legal rights to the song lol. but that's not the point I was trying to make at all. just saying that keith should most definitely not be 'taking notes' from someone with vastly less talent. fact of the matter is if sam hunt had even half of keith urban's talent, he wouldn't be writing this song for someone else to produce.
Nai Kavs Just wanted to throw my opinion out there. Sam Hunt is an artist, a great song writer and a awesome musician, but in this instance when someone else has tracked your song, you are covering it as the song writer/artist.
Whoever said Sam is better than Keith Urban is musically ignorant. Yes, Sam wrote this song and performs it well but voice and, musicianship he,does not hold a candle to Keith Urban. Keith is literally a virtuoso on guitar and able to play anything with strings and his voice is absolutely magic in his ability to deliver emotion both in his voice and, with whatever instrument he plays. Nothing, against Sam, he has a fine voice and, writes some good music. Keith's live performance of Stupid Boy and You'll Think of Me are amazing, examples of his ability and the emotion he puts into his music. The awards he has, received, speak for themselves. Not many, can play as well as sing complicated songs while playing, complicated riffs the way he does.
I'm a huge fan of Sam but I just like Keith's voice better on this particular song. Good thing he sold it to Keith so we get to hear both beautiful versions!
People saying Keith sucks are just moronic. It's obvious Keith doesn't suck. If Keith sucks and Sam is so great then why would Sam sell Cop Car to Keith. If I was a great musician and artist and singer i sure as hell wouldn't sell a great song like that to someone who "sucks". Therefore point is proven that Keith Urban doesn't suck and anybody that say he does, doesn't know shit. Now Sam is good too. However i prefer Keith's version of Cop Car and that's pretty much because 1. I heard it first and the most, 2. It's the studio version. But i do like SAMs version and love a lot of his songs. See how simple it is to give both artist their compliments they deserve when you aren't a moron.
Sam didn't sell it to Keith... Keith cut the song just before sam was about to release it as a single, therefore sam doesn't get any royalties or credit for it being a number 1 for Keith
zach Budge except for royalties and credit as a songwriter... He didn't sell the song.. And you have big artists cut your songs as a songwriter any time they want to... Hopefully when that happens, it helps launch their career and they get to sell more singles for themselves. I do agree that Keith Urban doesn't suck! It is just cool to hear a songwriter play his own song.
Sam and two other writers wrote the song. The other 2 evidently gave the song to Keith and he recorded it. Evidently Sam got upset and accused Keith or the other writers of stealing the song. Sam acted like a big baby and got on social media and spouted all this off. When Keith and another artist (can't remember who right now) performed it on the Grammy's, Sam got on social media again and said this is not what he had in mind for Cop Car! Eventually he signed a record deal and of course the big baby had to take all this off of social media. Bet he isn't hesitating spending the royalties he got from Keith recording it. Never cared for him since. He makes me think of Jethro Bodine....the big oaf from the Beverly Hillbillies. I'm sure a lot of you never heard of him!
I've thought about the difference between Keith's "cop car" and Sam;s. Keith's voice is a seasoned, mature voice and he's been around a lot longer than Sam. This doesn't make Sam's song less than -- It is an excellent comparison of Star and Rising Star!
A LOT of artists start off as songwriters......believe it or not, the songwriter makes more money than the artist does. (if the artist/singer didn't write the song too) The money is in the songwriting....
DEFYL0GIC For what could amount to a half hour of work composing a song? yes...they make A LOT more money.....the Singer (Artist) has to work a lot harder.... I'd much rather write a song for an hour and sit back and get a million dollar payday.....then write another.....BTW....I would keep collecting until I die.....As for the singers.....not so much.....
+Marcanthony Matos Sam wrote this song- Keith Urban recorded it. Hes written alot of songs others have used- Kenny Chesney has also used some of his songs too. Theres an interview when hes talking about it.
Sam Hunt is more believable on this song than Keith Urban in my opinion. Probably because he wrote it. Also a live radio feed vs. Urbans studio cut.......
He's got a different style of country singing, he's been picked on before for his style... It's not about what you wear it's about the soul you put into it.
The original song he sang of this SUCKED but this is way better (Keith Urban's is still better) also Sam Hunt's Cop Car was released in 2014 and Keith Urban's was released in 2013
I'm sorry I hate to be the hater hear but this is bad he was super breathy and didn't come close to Keith urban's it might be just me because I'm just use to Keith singing it and I'm a all time fan of KEITHS and I'm absolutely falling head over heals for Keith urban I'm in love with Keith idk I just don't like it
+bre bre I disagree tbh, I really think Sam connects with the emotion in the song with it being more acoustical and slow. I love Keith's version but Sam's sounds that little bit deeper.
well everyone entitled to their own opinion. I was just stating how I felt and who I like better. I love Keith voice and always have. a lot of artist write others songs and I like them but I don't like the artist who wrote it. That's just my opinion bout it.
Keith can't write songs? He wrote somebody like you....spent six weeks at number one on the country billboard charts. He's written and co-written a lot of other hits too. You can like this version of cop car all you like but you just sound ignorant with comments like that.
