I think the best explanation is he's got her firmly on his mind, but he shows that everyone has their own life, their own problems, their own worlds, not acknowledging any others' troubles, with exception being the one guy who can't forget and slowly, through observation and interaction, resolves that tomorrow will be different for himself, or at least he'll try starting to worry about his own life, and not obsessing over his ex.

I feel as though I am getting so out of shape and I am going crazy not being active and being able to get to the gym after school and in school.
