Sam Hunt Talks Being A 'Reluctant Star' 

Sam is the reluctant star. I believe he enjoyed the popularity of being his High School's quarterback more than being the college quarterback at UAB or being a Country Music star. He really is a normal guy who was raised very well and has just always been "special". He's a disciplined worker. None of these things just fell in his lap. He sacrificed to make them happen. I met Sam as a teenager because I take care of the family's cars. His Dad brought him to my shop when he got his driver license and introduced him. His Dad said told Sam that he was responsible for keeping up the maintenance on his car and Sam was diligent with the maintenance, just like the other things in his life. He still had that car when he went to Nashville and it's in one of his videos. I have to say that I was proud! After he became successful in music, he was in town and came to the shop to pick up one of the family cars. He was exactly the same man that he was in high school and college. Even though he had a someone waiting for him in the parking lot, he spent time speaking with me just like the young man in high school. Keep writing and recording young man!
