Im a purple belt and Ive always thought it was weird af that people sexualize Jiu Jitsu. Even rolling with really pretty girls I was never aroused in the moment of sparring. Ive had 1000s of rolls and no one has ever got a stiffie as far as I know.

I mean that's how cats fight and it is pretty epic. When a big cat gets an attacker on them they gold them their with their claws and repeatedly use there legs to shred the others stomach. That's why this sport would actually be cool if people fought tiger style. And they allowed the usage of the metal claws for hands and feet.

Kind of wrong, in comps they award points for top positions only lol. And his comment on north south is off because normally it’s chest to chest lol. It is what it is as a sport but it’s a pretty cool thing to have in your ability catalog, add a little boxing/striking ability and you’ll be a little less afraid if conversations or encounters go south where you can’t have a firearm.

Training martial arts, being strong and fit and also concealed carrying means you can adapt to different situations because you have different ways to deescalate

Na ju jitsu and wrestling together is the best way to ensure you feel confident in your ability to protect yourself in public. But martial arts culture is cunty and gay and if you go to the wrong place, youll be stuck dealing with some guy whos trying to break your arm every chance he gets and the gym eventually gets shut down because dude was hooking up with high school girls. I would say find a pedro sauer gracie school but the standards for those affiliates becoming loose as its become about money

@@concertinacultist9971 yep... Part of the problem is that wrestling is either MMA, high school, or college so the relationship to the coach is a little different. They put you through the ringer to the point that you and your teammates really don't have the mental energy to engage in that kind of ego mania. I've trained ju jitsu since early high school wrestled for 3 years. The type of people that come through the door in ju jitsu classes are often people that aren't used to getting beat up. Wrestlers are poor kids who've had their ass kicked or have tough dads that force them to do hard shit. It's just hard to cultivate that environment when you are just taking monthly dues from people that are not really committed. My aunt and uncle are Gracie Brown belts and they have their own spot and are under a Pedro sauer affiliate. Dealing with other people's petty nonsense is the number one thing they complain about And they've been lucky with the group they have because it's mostly married people with children... Some of these schools are full of 30 year olds acting like kids. The men and women are hooking up with each other and naturally shit always gets really weird

Unless your elite, bjj ain’t gonna fix all your problems in a street fight. Great for discipline and growth tho. If your opponent is bigger and stronger, your screwed 90% of the time. Secondly, closing the distance by trying to grapple in a self-defense situation is a good way to get yourself stabbed. Running away is the best self-defense and requires zero training, and punching allows you to keep distance while maintaining balance. No robber or crazy guy on the street will ever try just grappling you without initiating by striking, and grappling itself is impractical in 99% of the time. Bjj doesn't have striking, so I have no idea what homo orgy you've been conned into participating in.

If one wants to be succesful at MMA they should learn judo over bjj as mma rewards standing more upright as it means you aren’t getting kicked and kneed in the face. Pure no gi bjj might not have as much of a need for judo. You can do that lower wrestling stance and there’s no walls.

Idk this is the only time iv seen Nick seem kind of insecure. It felt like he was coping for not having any grappling experience. It didn’t really sound like a bit. My prob is that there isnt really a way for adults to train wrestling and takedowns against other skilled people. If you find a gym that emphasizes the standing game and takedowns and wrestling technique, thats sig less gae than the regular 100% bjj gyms. Though still pretty gae.

Once I started ju jitsu I realized that 30 minutes of rolling at even 50/50 win rate makes me harder than literally 99% of anybody. If you can roll for 30 minutes. A 1 minute fight could reeeeeally go in your favor. It’s fuckin gay though for sure.
