He knows it will pay off well, but their games are good enough to stand as their own titles. Not like I mind to see the references, McCaffrey's voice and Sam Lake's constipated face do work their nostalgia magic.
Sam Lake plays a character named Sam Lake, a character written by Alan Wake a character written by Sam Lake, who portrays a character named Alex Casey who is a character written by Alan Wake based on a real man named Alex Casey played by Sam Lake, the fictional Casey being based on a character written by Sam Lake and performed by Sam Lake as Sam Lake as Alex Casey.
Sam Lake is like the Finnish Hideo Kojima. Self referential, and incorporating previous projects in another project, whether or not he’s trying to be subtle.
Except the movie was garbage and was heavily criticized for being terrible. Didn't have any Max Payne feeling. But rather absurd Fast & Furious ridiculousness.
Tbh that is how Max Payne 2 ended. With him getting over his dead wife. But then he is once again a drunken mess in Max Payne 3 which is a plot hole ig.
James Mcaffrey doesn't get enough appreciation for Alan Wake 2, he is the perfect voice for Alex Casey/Max Payne and he kills it, I loved listening Casey's monologues.
Well, considering that Remedy made a deal with Rockstar for permission to remake Max Payne 1 & 2, I'd say the chances of Sam playing Max again are good.
@Garland846 Yeah, I'd like a consistent face across the trilogy this time. James McCaffery's face is more fitting than Sam's imo. But I still like Sam's Max look in its own way and if they add it to the remakes, I hope he resembles Alex Casey's model or the recent Max Payne 3 face mod.
You've missed off most of it. Alan's in a liminal talk show with David Harewood playing someone called "Mr Door", they're lipsyncing an American voice actor over a Finnish actor while they're playing the Max Payne voice actor pretending to be the game developer Sam Lake pretending to be an actor called Sam Lake pretending to be Alex Casey (who is really just Max Payne) over closeup video footage of game developer Sam Lake pretending to be an actor called Sam Lake pretending to be a live action version of a book character named Alex Casey (who is really just a videogame character named Max Payne) superimposed over wide-shot video footage of game developer Sam Lake pretending to be an actor called Sam Lake pretending to be Alex Casey pretending to be Max Payne and doing the Max Payne face for a joke.
0:48 when that happened I just couldn’t stop laughing😂. Sam Lake did the Max Payne Lightskin Stare. When I first saw Casey when I played this I was like “Wait this guy looks Genuinely familiar” Took me a while to process until I eventually figured out that not only did this guy work on Alan Wake 2 Writing, Directing, and Even acting in it… *He also played Max Payne in 1 and 2* All the more reason why Sam Lake along with Ilkka Villi(Alan) are my fav actors. Both did a very good job in the game overall.
Uhh the essence of Max Payne is the voice played by James McCaffrey and imo they should just use the voice actor's face for the next MP game because it fits way better with his voice and looks the part. Also a lot more rugged and better looking than lake.
@@emiami458 A huge part of me wishes that James McCaffery was the facial mocap model in all 3 games. Not only because I think the Max Payne character and voice matches him the best but also for the consistency. There's a video that shows James' face in one of the first Max Payne's comic cutscenes and I think it looks great. In the remakes, I hope they go that route and include Sam's Max as an alternate option.
Mark my words, this scene right here is going to be remembered as one of the most iconic scenes in gaming history. Alan Wake and Max Payne in one frame! Two of my fav game characters
Man, they share the dance floor together later on, it gets even better lol. I do love this moment though, lowkey might have been my favorite part in the game, I love me some Max Payne, and when he busted out the scrunch face was just too damn funny.
Yes, the man who writes the Remedy games uses a stage name that sounds like a character in a Remedy game. The funniest part is that it's just his real name translated into English. His real name is Sami Antero Järvi and Järvi is the Finnish word for lake.
Voiced by James Mcaffrey who voiced Max Payne written by Sam Lake, who Sam Lake gave his face for. Which is supposed to be a parody of Max Payne. Written and Played by Sam Lake and Max Payne
@@reboomer8369 for real man cant wait for the Max remakes. hope remedy does something special with them and its not a phoned in remake like Metal Gear just got
idk how they got Ilka to perfect mimic what Poretta is saying for Alan.. for so long i thought there was just one actor for Wake, really nice work remedy and to all the actors
Dude, it is not Rocket science. Movies are usually shot first and then actor have to dub it again in studio. Thats how movies used to be made for decades and even now they have to dub it for action and imax sequences
It's awesome and hilarious; that Sam Lake does his Max Payne( Errm sry; ALEX CASEY) facial impromptus when given an opportunity. You can tell he's both humbled and grateful that fans alike appreciate the stories he's interwoven.
Sam lake who is a writer plays a character called sam lake who is an actor written by sam lake, who plays a character called Alex Casey who is a detective who is written by Alan Wake who is a writer who is written by Sam lake who is a writer.
max payne was a tragic character, his wife got killed, his baby got killed, his partner, his girlfriend, his chief police, his new boss in brazil with wife, even his friend become main villain on second game. while john wick was lucky bastard his wife die in peace and most of his friend was still alive, although his dog got killed
he's hideo kojima if hideeo kojima was consistent in telling a story and had some reason in his ideas. not just outrageous ideas like in death stranding
that's obviously Max Payne being interviewed as Alex Casey , his Alias.. Max's best friend's name is Alex, apparently we are seeing through crevices of Max's life through Alan Wake., Before the fall when he was just working for the FBI, ... before he was Payne to the max, he was just Max being Maximumly notorious.. a Dead Eye that became the fall guy, that's why all the criminals he shoot dodges into know who he is, it's how they tracked him down...it's how Max Payne 1 started...This is how Max Payne got played into becoming the fall guy.. The Fall of Max Payne..the Wake of Alan Wake, Manipulation at it's best
Thanks for informing me of my lack of attention, as this is David Harewood, so my initial comment is rather tragically funny: "The swan song of Lance Reddick. It is truly the most honorable outing."
I feel like Ilkka Villi looks confused a lot as an intentional part of these videos, because during all of these we can see he looks frightened and confused because he doesnt seem to gain consciousness until Alan tunes into the TV
Sam Lake plays the actor Sam Lake playing the character Alex Casey modeled after the real Alex Casey - who was portrayed by Sam Lake - and written by Alan Wake who was written by Thomas Zane who was written by Sam Lake.
Did anyone else imagine Alex Casey to look exactly like this as well? Did Sam Lake read the minds of people and say "wow these guys actually think I need to be Casey. I was planning someone else but I can't argue with what the people want."
He was before inception Max payne had this shizophrenia things He created all the good things Max payne quantum break control alan wake but in the end all play in same multiversum this how Genius this man is
I would love an April Fools expansion/DLC where it's Sam Lake going on a power trip and screwing with the cast of AW2. using his God-like power of being the creator of the series, he could do anything.
This is a meta-critic to story like what happend with The Witcher and how Netflix adapted the content. Or Even Halo with How Paramount adapted the content.
It’s a common thing in a lot movie adaptation of books, not just the recent ones. The original authors have reservations, because they’re not being involved and decisions are being made that stray too far from the original story for their comfort. For some a little further back, look at world war z, the lightning thief, literally any adaptation of Dracula, though Bram Stoker was dead before any of those were made.
It's called The Remedy Connected Universe. Alan Wake wrote Max Payne and was investigated by the authorities in Control over the disappearance of his wife
