look on the table during the training, you can see a box of Glazed McGuffins. A very nice callback to the old cartoon. Shows just how much love went into this game.
in case anyone's curious, this has several throwbacks to the '98 cartoon as well as to the flash animations and telltale games. it's a neat way to tie everything together, given how steve purcell is about not wanting the series to be particularly mainstream.

@@It_dee_ot I don't 100% know what they mean either, but I think I have an idea- might be spoilers for the Telltale games, though. If you don't wanna read I put it waaaaay down at the bottom. Ok, here's my hunch at the very end of the Devil's Playhouse our Sam's Max sacrifices himself to save the planet and ends up actually dying. Sam's wrecked after this. After sulking for a bit, a different Max shows up in the time machine elevator and takes dead Max's place. Again, I have no idea if this VR game canonically takes place after the Telltale games, but they're loosely referenced a couple times so that leads me to believe that it might be the case. But you'd have to get a straight answer from the original commenter.
@@It_dee_ot Sorry I took so long to respond! I Missed a word. I meant "this Max lost a Sam." Spoilers! I was assuming this is canon to the Telltale games where the canon is that Past Max met up with Present Sam after past Sam became an electromagnetic monster that Max had to blow up.
@@tackyopticI think I heard Sam mention Max being giant "again." Also, Max said he remembers almost every time he's died when they discuss the moon, so Bad Day on the Moon is definitely canon.
That office music is downright nostalgic. I played the first two Telltale seasons on the Wii. Needed a walkthrough for almost the entire first season, but the more robust hint system helped me through the second.
I can't believe they neglected to add a section where you slay a low-poly dragon in a low-poly fantasy world and rip a key out of his still beating heart.

@@bradleydrake6941 No, they aren't. The Telltale name still exists but they aren't able to make any new games due to losing the naming rights for most of their series. There will be no new Wolf Among Us. There will be no new Sam & Max. There will be no new Walking Dead.

@@queenofuganda7718 to be honest this game leaves alot more to be desired. I was moreso hoping for something closer to the other games with an overhaul on the environment design the same way the comics do to fill up a comic panel. It'd be much more enjoyable as a VR Point and Click Puzzle Adventure with these obstacle courses sprinkled in here and there, and some challenging gun fights against the criminal element trying to cover everything up.

I'm 40 minutes in so far. The banter between the duo is nice to hear after all these years, and hearing Sam call me "kid," "junior" or "cadet" is therapeutic beyond measure. It feels like there's a bit too much noise, though. Like as soon as one of them finishes talking, the other drops a one liner or Thomas Edison shouts commands nonstop. Like i love you both but please shut up. give me 10 seconds to laugh before you say something else. Let me process what i need to do next, holy shit. I'm also not sure the gameplay looks fun, but I'm not good at first person shooting and I'm unfamiliar with VR so I'm not really qualified to judge. I wonder where the fandom is going to place this game in the fanmade timeline?
It’s a catch 22. Companies only put in money for longer games if they can expect to make a profit. Customers like to only buy games if they are long enough.
Just finished this game. A really good use of VR, and feels like a legit Sam & Max adventure. I got into the nightclub by chance, so I don't know what the actual logic for that is...
Sam = that new friend of basically acts like the perfect father Max = that friend of give you dead treats (why he even do that?) You = The guy of just see a bug on the floor and you call it friend
I wish they’re models didn’t look so.. I don’t know cutesy? Maybe I’m just used to the telltale models but honestly it’s still really funny game and I’m glad to hear their voices again
I like the vr format alright but it's frustrating when they're about to say something funny but then have to interrupt themselves for stock dialogue whenever the player does something
I like that 3:46 is using the engineer's banjo taunt music (or at least that's what I know it from). Also, Sam and Max have a pretty good history with TF2. (best I know from poker night).
According to what I have heard, there is a flint paper easter egg you missed. I believe you need to put a cup to the wall in the office the first time you are in there. Really want to see that
If you're going to work with Sam and Max, you're gonna have to think like Sam and Max! Be resourceful, use anything you can pick up, and maybe pay attention to what everyone is saying!
