Sam's Garage S2 E2 - 73-87 Chevy & GMC Truck Dash Pad Installation 

I remember doing this to 74 chevy the new trucks are easy throw the hole truck away I like the old rigs simple fun to work on

I can do most things, especially since youtube came along. I would have appreciated seeing the actual dashpad install.....was that a complete dash replacement? or a plastic or vinyl skin put on the original cracked up/decaying dash. I have to tackle this project on my second restore of my 1979 stepside; also have the saddle bag 2 gas tanks and was wondering if the gage swap on previous videos (printed circuit) works with that arrangement - switchable tanks for readouts? Or, if I decide to leave my cluster as original, will the PC wiring overlay support placing a "thermometer" or another useful gauge in my empty spare slot? Thanks for the great vids.

Clips are way harder to put in than this video makes it seem. Wish it showed close up when he put it in. The tab breaks if you try to bend it even barely past where it sits. I recommend buying extra retaining clips so you have spares handy

Is it just me or on that dash pad does it seem to have the VIN number cut out I thought that wasn't there until 80
