It does suck, I was part of the guard based in Ottawa standing at the governer generals house. And my now girlfriend came up and tried to talk to me while I was on shift. It's hard not to smile or talk. At the end of the day, I got the gal though. ;)
I just love when military members allow these moments for these people with disabilities it was really nice seeing his fellow service men being able to help his brother out
he’s not disabled though, just differently abled. I’ve worked with people with CP, Down’s, etc for two years and they are just as able as everyone else but even more smart, wise, clever, etc, and so nice funny and everything!(:
When I was younger I learned this from my dad. He said he had a cousin who had Down syndrome and she died young and he got kind of emotional. Made me proud my hard ass cowboy dad had emotional intelligence and was teaching me the same.
@I gRape Babies you're wrong!! I work with disabled adults and everyday they come up against ignorance /discrimination and poor judgement from so called normal people. I don't know what your experience of disability is but I doubt you're qualified to assess anybodys intelligence, those of us who left comments are not stupid. (what is it that really bothers you??)
I mean I get irritated when my brothers have to pass through my line of sight to get to the stairs. As the eldest son, my eyes shouldn't be subjected to such horrid examples of ugly. 😐

I also did my duty with the Scots guards. There's this one kid, wearing a grenadier guards uniform trying to talk to me. Since we're not allowed to interact, there was nothing I could do. After my shift ended, we just took pictures and marched around. Breathtaking. I felt like I was King George with my sword that day. Haha

I have a cousin that's in the royal army and he did the same thing but he's senior officer to me that he acknowledge you and he will see you when he get off duty
Sam is a distant cousin of mine who ive met quite a few times at family events on my mothers side. he is a great guy, full of smiles and not a care in the world for negativity. Always happy and smiling a great guy indeed.
Yes i ve spent very good Times working With them too. I remember very good moments we laughed a lot together. And when they love you they show it in an incredible way

My father and Brother and nephew were and are Jock guards. This is amazing absolutely love hearing him shout his brother and the big hug. It’s what the army is about. Family 👍🏻
What an absolute wonderful clip, this is why we are the best armed forces in the world. The smile on that lad's face is unbelievable and just shows just how proud he is of his brother.
That step scared him 🤣 that was funny . I think it is cute the way people where talking to him . With so much respect . And that end moment where he finally could give his brother a hug 🤗 so sweet . That gave me a warm feeling and a little bit of tears in my eyes . It must be hard for him for not seeing his brother every day all the time 😓❤️🥰
I love how people with disabilities are treated as equals and they let him stand by his brother to have a pic taken so hart warming love it and he gets to have a hug and when he stood there and watched his brother you could see in his face that he was so proud of him ❤

Not gonna lie almost cryed. My best friend grew up with a mentally disabled older brother and when I was younger I didn't really understand how to behave infront of him because he was older and it took me a while to understand that he will always stay in the mind of a five year old but his body will grow. She always had his back even when I was like 8yo and said that he is weird she told me okay then we dont have to be friends but he's my brother and I love him for who he is. It took me a while to get used to him and I now volenteer with people with all sorts of disabilities mostly because I learned that every one was diffrent at a young age and I am thankfull for that.

He respected his brothers post and position with true understanding of the rules and duties that his brother has been assigned, even though he mustve wanted to run at him the moment he saw him.
