@Canderous Urrtha someone who's actually more knowladgable would actually either explain why the first is wrong, or save their time and avoid engaging alltogether. They won't waste it just to remind that they're smart. People like you are extremely easy to spot, you're just embarassing yourself.
@@karinaashmon in court, if the lawyer was to say this it would be called 'speculation'. It is when you say that a person COULD have done something, without any physical proof. It's not really allowed in court
It’s trying to prove wrongful termination, the lack of said reason is both unusual and relevant to her firing. The witness has already stated that they do not like the attorney, you can argue speculation but it’ll be shut down by the reasoning, or lack thereof, of her termination.
I got fired from a company for drawing a cartoon but they didn't have any proof I drew the cartoon. They claimed that they had a handwriting analyst that said I drew the cartoon based on my handwriting. I took them to the labor relations board in my state and turns out...shocker...they lied about the handwriting analyst. When they found in my favor I was given a choice to get my job back with my seniority and all the pay I would have missed from the day I got fired to the day I restarted or my old company offered a settlement, which was pretty huge. I took the settlement, bought a new vehicle, a new computer and put a down payment on a house. That was back in 98.
and you've since made a shit ton of money no doubt good for you man yeah it's fucking bullshit why they fire people in some places. i would not be surprised if there were jobs that fired people cause they farted and stunk up a room. it's stupid sure but so is blaming someone for drawing a cartoon than lying about it to get him fired.
I don’t think you all understand, it doesn’t matter if it was speculation or not or if she was allowed to say it or not. What matters is that the jury heard her and now whatever she said is being considered by the jury, she made a point, even if the point is not considered legally in the trial, the jury will still consider it because they already heard it and they can’t just delete the information from their brain. So it will still affect the decision in the end of the day.
I got fired with no reason given. Then when I filed for unemployment, my former employer contested it and came up with all kinds of bogus reasons. Unfortunately for them, I had all of my evaluation documents that said nothing but good things about my performance. The judge shrugged his shoulders and said, "The only legitimate reasons to contest paying unemployment is if the employee didn't show up to work, came to work intoxicated, stole from the company, or threatened you."
This court scene is not accurate at all but ok. You can’t address an adult on the mount by their first name, and the defense had multiple reasons to object during the “interrogation”.
If I wanted to watch a realistic court battle I'd watch my parents divorce. I didn't come here for true court. I came here because there's a lady with huge plot
The witness has already established they have a negative opinion of my client, and have strangely left out any reasoning in relation to her termination. In a wrongful termination suit, most of these questions would stand

Proceeds to get beamed offsite. Dies in transporter accident. Somehow managed to sleep with judge off camera beforehand. 27 years later her daughter gets revenge on same lawyers by becoming judge and finding them in contempt. Sleeps with male lawyer off camera.
After watching a good number of legal series, I became inspired to do Law. On my first time to court, I realized that movies and reality are not the same.
Pretty much. I once saw a guy try to be his own lawyer because he'd seen a lot of TV... The look on his face when two giant dudes in security uniforms had his arms and were pulling him back to his seat.
Refusing to provide a reason for termination may be an attempt to cover up illegal discrimination or retaliation. So it still doesn’t look good and it doesn’t prevent lawsuits.
@@SaucyMuffins true but it still provides a small blanket over it. Because they have to prove it was wrong she doesn’t have to prove there was any reason for the firing
I really couldn't get into her as the villain character. She was there to make sure the firm didn't do any more illegal shit and they all had a fit because she was...doing her job?
@Kaosce But they weren't doing their job properly, which was my point. Every illegal thing she pulled them up on they 100% did and should have been pulled up on them.
Yes, especially the way the final episode went down, where they blackmailed her into submission. Doing the very thing she was accusing them of - maverick lawyering.
It wasn't that she did her job that they did all of this. She came in, disrespected all of them, in public. Worked like dictator, and pretended to be pure when she wasn't. She acted and showed clearly that she hated them, so they started to hate her too.
The bar had her do an investigation than she just did a coupe and stole the firm literally demoting everyone and firing people. She was going to shut down the firm cause she was power hungry. So quietly they had mike return to cancel her out, for his memory was unbeatable
I told my old boss that I was getting sick and a doctor had told me it was probably due to stress at work. I only asked to be moved to another department where I'd be less stressed. My boss and every manager involved played around so long that I got worse and had to call off repeatedly. They scheduled me less because me calling off "clearly meant I don't want to be there". Eventually I was fired for too many call offs and was refused unemployment. I had to talk to a judge who felt so sorry for me but couldn't do much. I was unemployed for 3 months and only got $300 when the math told me it should have been $1800.
@@btsuklove1831 but she choose to have an attorney represent her (not unheard of, in fact most attorneys probably do have another attorney represent them especially big cases) and being that she is a client, I believe it would be odd at best that she would start cross-examining the witness.
@@AT-gh9js that attorney is from her firm and this case isn't just about her it involves the whole firm, its a long story but it's not too unnatural for an attorney to corepresent themselves
not listing a reason doesn't protect the employer. wrongful termination is not hard to prove if you're a smart employee and keep track of your records. Remember folks, always BCC an outside email for ALL communications with your boss.
I miss this show already. Just finished this episode and the last one yesterday. Harvey 😢 Mike, Louis, I miss you guys . Donna, Robert , Alex , Samantha, Jessica , Rachel 😭😭.
Yeah but the lawyer on the defense site was teamed up with the other lawyers so thats why he didnt object, the lawyer said this in court beacise she knew nobody would stopher because she has a deal with lawyer of the deffendant
When I was young the blond actress played in a series that I really loved but I forgot the name. Now seeing this clip I could find the name of the actress and it lead me to one of my favourite série! 😄
The thing is, if you live in a "right to work" state, that means they do not have to give a reason. They can fire you just because they don't like you or your shirt or the way you breathe through your mouth. But, ya know, it's a "right to work" thing, so it must be great for employees.
