I know so many people who only have an octave range and I sit here with 3 octave range or 3.1, pretty much the same range as Amy Lee... So I get placed into tenor, alto or soprano depending on which part needs more voices
same! but i luckily can hit “i have never known” in chest voice. for six years i was a soprano 1 and now i’m an alto 1 and it’s weird. voice lessons really helped though! that’s where i’m learning this song and i have start off a recital in four weeks but i’m excited!! go altos
I sobbed into my pillow for ten solid minutes, I tell you no lie. When there's someone out there that you love but they don't notice like Eponine and I, this song is deeply emotional. Love you, Guy-I-Won't-Name.... :(
That is my life right there... But it is fun and easier to sing if you just connect to the lyrics. When you are so busy putting all your emotion and heart into the song, you don't have time to think about the high notes you just belted out, and as a result, it just comes out more naturally and doesn't seem forced.

Just thought I'd mention that I'm using this for my choir exam tomorrow (if that's alright)! I'm so excited, though I feel like I'm getting a small fever (uh oh). Even if I am, there is no way I am missing exams tomorrow. I have been practicing this song like my life depends on it and there is no way I am missing the opportunity to sing it on stage. It's actually one of the few songs I think I'm good at.
I remember this was the first song I did during singing lessons and after learning the story back then everytime I sang this song it brought me to tears.

this might not be a popular opinion but i feel like the original version is a lot faster? like, I kept starting lines way before they actually lit up on the screen and I felt like the lyrics were ever so slightly behind the music.
I'm auditioning for Eponine this summer! In so excited I mean I love her so much! That note though! I mean I can hit it but geez it's hard! I'm so jealous of people that can go super high! I know two people in my drama club that can go up to a high F (a fourth above this note)!!! I wishhhh!!! Of course they're both older but still!!!
LindseyChristina Good luck this summer! I know that you'll do fantastically! What I've learned from drama so far is that you can't compare yourself to others; of course you will not think highly of yourself, because everyone is different. I think that if you have the self confidence to play a role such as Eponine, you have some serious skill. So don't be jealous of others, you probably sound better than me (I sound very poor while singing this). Again, I wish you the best, and (again) good luck with your audition!

My choir is doing Les Miserables for our winter concert. I really want to get the On My Own solo. I've been practicing for about an hour a day since I found out which was three days ago.
I've been trying to convince my choir instructors to have next year's spring musical be Les Misérables for like the past three months. If we actually do it, I really hope I get to play Éponine.
I'm waiting for that one instructor to tell me your good but you need work and then perfect my voice. Because when people hear me they think I great and when I act they think I'm great.....I need someone who can pick through the talent and find the sore parts. ....anyone :)

by the end of this song, (while i was watching the movie) i was in tears for Eponie. 2 seconds later, i was well aware of the irony and how my life is so similar to her. if i am following the lines to les mis, not only will i be dead but not winning his heart over by some other girl he didn't even know.
Actually there are lots of people like Eponine in this world. There are many girls who's love for a guy is unreturned. She's not suicidal or mentally ill, she's heartbroken because Marius won't love her back. She gets shot, she doesn't kill herself and she's one of the most heartfelt characters in the entire story. If you don't get that, experience it first (a guy or girl not loving you back) like I have before you make a judgement
