Centenary Blues Bash - Hackettstown, NJ 3-21-14 Samantha Fish, Scot Sutherland, and Go-Go Ray www.samanthafish.com Filmed in HD by Joan Mallotides aka BluesBroad
I found this young lady a while back from my son, I heard a cut and thought that voice and heart had to belong to a middle-aged rode-hard angel. Then I saw her and heard this cut. As an old man with daughters and granddaughters, I have to resist the urge to find the no-good low-life that hurt this sweet child so bad to have that kind of soul. dammit.
Exactly. She is a welcome relief because so much of modern music isn't raw or real even for live music. Many modern day musicians and bands have prerecorded studio mixing in their live performances and many use loopi pedals and even plenty autotune for live performances as well. Samantha Fish is old school raw and real music for live performances and this is a rare thing today.
Samantha is just a wonderful guitarist. She puts heart and soul into her playing, and seems completely dedicated in honing her craft. I've seen her live 3 times now, and she gets better each and every time.
Doug, I don't blame you. I'd love to see and hear her playing the Danelectro. My bucket list dream is for Page and Beck to FINALLY do that tour, and Samantha opens for them and they come out and jam with her, then she comes out and jams with them. Hopefully I'll at least get this wish in heaven since I'm not likely to get it on earth
Rico, never said it was an Original Zep. Zep gave credit to Blind Willie so I know it's his song. Zep just took it to a much higher level, that old Willie didn't have the ability to. Blind Willie's like a cute lil t-ball version, and Zep is MLB
The world has been waiting a very long time for this. This voice makes me feel like the real blues will never die.Thank you Sam. Please be very careful, take care of yourself. The blues were sent down from heaven to ease the people's pain who are still here on earth. There are a lot of people who are counting on you. God bless you Sister Fish.
I'm just discovering this amazing artist recently and am loving everything I hear. Love her take on these old classics, she puts her own stamp on them and owns them. And those vocals, just dripping with soul and blues.
She is just simply awesome a true blues player and she is the most exciting artist in music TODAY!! She gives this Led Zeppelin track some serious heat! Great guitarist, great singer, great woman who loves her fans as much as they love her keep on rockin queen Samantha of the blues.
Every video of her I see has comments to the effect of “why am I just now discovering her? Why the heck isn’t she world famous?” I’m here to add another. This is some dang good guitar playing.
Unlike some other musicians who start making a name for themselves and then get stuck in a rut, Samantha has kept moving and growing into uncharted territory (check out Belle of the West, Kill or Be Kind or her recent work as a producer with Wild Heart Records. It's almost like what Samantha was doing between 2012 and 2015 was a warm up to her real growth as an artist. Constantly my faith in blues rock. Bless you, Samantha!!!
A _generational_ performer that the major labels have missed out on with their fixation on manufactured pop idolatry. Jimi, SRV, Jeff Healey, Gary Moore Jr. all must be smiling somewhere as the Fish vibes ring out. And she sings, oh! Billie, Carla Thomas, Gladys Knight, Sarah Vaughan and others come to mind as Samantha's powerful and sultry delivery gives me the same goosebumps.
3 years before i had the luck to see this after a very serious Cancer Operation. every word every tone was and is a answer, tx for the good Girl sam, ans tx bring this

Love her music. Her album are all a little different & they're all worth listening to. Black Wind Howlin' is her most bluesy release. I haven't listened to her newest album yet though: Death Wish Blues.
I now believe in God! as only he could create an Angel as is Samantha Lay down your swords.. and just enjoy her music who are you gonna blame your problems on tomorrow? start with the person in the mirror
