Nichole Holloway True, but early 90's artists weren't 1 hit wonders. A lot of artists in the early 90's like Mary J, Mariah Carey, Whitney, Madonna...all had/have long lasting careers.
Denise Jessee I didn't say she was. Although she did only have 2 popular songs at that time. 'Baby Come On Over' was popular, but not as popular as 'Gotta Tell you' since it was her break out song.
I heard this on the radio again today and thought WOW I havent heard this song in ages what a great TUNE but so underrated! Its going straight to the playlist!
I remember she opened for NSYNC at the rose bowl during their celebrity tour and I got her autograph outside the stadium. I’ll never forget that memory. I was 10 years old 😭❤️
WTF!!!! I've been searching for this song for decades! I remember this song and music video from my childhood in '98/'99/'00, but I never knew the name and forgot the lyrics. I only recall her denim outfit and pink top, walking throughout the entire video. I asked so many people for help finding this song, but nobody could assist me. Now, after all these years, I came across it in the RU-vid suggestions list.
Aight so… It’s 2024 and I’m in my kitchen making bread. Im 33 if that adds any value but why did I just bust out singing this song randomly like it just came on the radio yesterday, word for word damn near created a full choreography routine…. while kneading dough. What repressed memory did I just stumble across? I solidly have not listened to this song in decades, but remember when I used to run this song on repeat like I just did today. When the world has “I’m vanilla baby” as their ear worm, I’m grateful to give ear this critter. Thank you for this banger.
My fav song in 2000, the year I got married. Was played on the radio when my beloved future father-in-law drove me hours to collect my wedding dress. RIP Pops❤
My first car had only AM radio that got 2 stations - The local news station and RADIO DISNEY. This song got a ton of airplay on Radio Disney. Here I am 20 years later still listening to it!
This was track 1 and the 1st single from Samantha’s only album “Gotta Tell You” and was the 1st song I learned by this great singer and dancer. This is a real 2000 party song right here. This was also track 2 from the “Now That’s What I Call Music! 6” CD
I remember when my mom bought this cd . I remember her un wrapping it in the car and rushing to throw it in the cd player. It was my two sisters and I .This song has big significance in my child hood because of my mom.
Been hearing this song play a lot at the Schnucks I work at. Never thought I'd actually like this. I just love the progression and lyrics and is cadence.
Samantha please make more music!!!! ??? You were and are Ireland's Britney Spears..... I was so proud of you when you were leading the saint Patrick's day parade:) I want you to be on tv all the time!!!!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Your love for me came as a waterfall Flowin' inside me like never before Your love for me, somethin' I didn't see But baby, I know better now When you walk in the room that very night A special feelin' just burst inside It was only you, nobody else But baby, I know better now Don't want to love you if you don't love me Don't want to need you when you won't need me too Don't want to tell you this now, but it wouldn't be right If I didn't tell you this tonight Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah And now you're back inside my house again I'm tryin' deeper to explain 'Cause baby, I want to get it on And baby, you're the one for me But now that I have got you all alone After all this talkin' on the phone I should be strong, there's nothing wrong I'll tell you this is where you belong, where you Belong Don't want to love you if you don't love me Don't want to need you when you won't need me too Don't want to tell you this now, but it wouldn't be Right If I didn't tell you this tonight Don't want to love you if you don't love me Don't want to need you when you won't need me too Don't want to tell you this now, but it wouldn't be right If I didn't tell you this tonight It was just something in your eyes That made me realize But now I hear voices deep inside Tellin' me, tellin' me Don't want to love you if you don't love me Don't want to need you when you won't need me too Don't want to tell you this now, but it wouldn't be right If I didn't tell you this tonight Don't want to love you if you don't love me Don't want to need you when you won't need me too Don't want to tell you this now, but it wouldn't be right If I didn't tell you this tonight
LMAO! You are a nut for that comment in all good fun. My daughter is twelve years old and she loves this song and video. When she was five when she first saw the video she would pretend to be running to catch the plane. Shout out to ANYONE that loves this song. Thank You Samantha Mumba. 2000, 2018 and on and on.
MÚSICA FANTÁSTICA... Tinha tudo pra atravessar gerações com mais popularidade. E a cantora, é excelente. Pena que muita gente no Brasil, não decora o nome da cantora, nem da música.
Omg the way I use to loveeeeeee this song and this was my time 🥰 dam I literally forgot about this lady, it’s been like over 20 years plus. Just saw a video on insta and it reminded me 😢 wow how time has passed.
Great concept of mtv and she sing/act naturally. This is my jam. Love her soothing voice. It makes me feel all frantic that her acting career has never been blossoming the way it should be!
So it's 2022.... The other night im at work at 1AM and this song comes on the overhead speakers... It's been years and years since ive heard this and as soon as it comes on i start doing the dance and singing. Wow
@@damoncarlson9707 It's a rip off and a bad one at that. Mumba has zero talent, that's why she disappeared and had one hit. and it's only a hit because she ripped it off of bowie.
you know what's crazy is 20 years from now absolutely no one is going to be like "do you remember that song from 2023" because all music from the last decade has been absolute ass. But music like this from the 90's and early 2000s will live forever.
Your love for MAY! Gotta love 00s pop. I just turned 35 and I honestly can't believe how old this looks/is - still sounds and feels very trendy to me lol
I was a boy 20 years old back in the year 2000, i fell inlove with this song and now 23 years after at 43 years old now in 2023! Omg i am 20 years old again!!!!❤❤❤
Some of the choreography, clothing and the outdoorsy setting, reminds me of Janet's "All For You" As for the "Super Powers" jumping and flipping here and there, reminds me of Janet's "Runaway". The director both/or Samantha must be a fan of the iconic and legendary Janet Jackson! Nice song, though!
