Great song, great voice, great 70's hair helmets! The two hosts look like they're ready for a skydive. And Samantha is so powerful she can just channel her whole band and the Bee Gees all at once. Maybe that lip gloss has special wonder powers.

Right, back in 1977 you either had to bring the entire band on, and pay them, or have the artist lip sync. Background music tracks were very very rare.

That lady is not Dame Edna, it's VIRGINIA GRAHAM. She went on to have her own very popular talk show. I was newly married with a little girl so I was fortunate to be able to watch her. She was so funny and voiced her opinion on everything. I loved her out spoken personality. But yet she was never rude.

I don't think she lipsynched it at all. I hear slight variations in pitch and texture compared to the original, although music from the orig. is used in the backing tracks. Still, her pipes were gorgeous!!

This is one of the first records I ever bought as a young boy in 1977. I always assumed she was a black American until I just saw this video. Not only is she white, but Australian. The Bee Gees spent most of their lives in Australia having emigrated from Manchester, so i guess they knew her from there and produced this for her.

Unfortunately, she’s not Barry Gibb. It would be a challenge to do it live with the same character. Although, I’m very pleased that Barry supported her so strongly with this song. It’s just unfortunate that she didn’t have his songwriting ability to have long-lasting success in the US, at least. I hope she had/has long-lasting success in her country.

She is lip-synching. The background voice is Barry Gibb. However, I have a feeling that Robin Gibb was included. There are many songs where they both sing, and they sound like one singer. Robin and Barry wrote the song.
