I love the way pastor Doug tells the message, it's not like some monotonous or voice forcing and shouting sermons, but gentle with a bit of humour. Love it and it gets more in my head then from others. Thank you pastor Doug

Today (07/11/2021) is my second week listening to Pastor Batchelor' preachings. Even English is not my language, The Holy Spirit of God is guiding me to learn. I really thank God for Pastor Batchelor, he is a servant of Jesus The Lord, we learn, we are motivated to love and trust our God and Pastor Doug has a healthy sense of humor. I've never in all of my 77 years heard ANY pastor explain this passage so brilliantly. It's 02.35 near Cape Town, South Africa. No matter. This is worth being awake for. On another note : does the church not have what we call "a mother's room" ? Where moms can sit with their small children, still hear the sermon, and where the little ones can cry and protest without the congregation hearing? When my kids were small and crying in church, one HAD to go to the soundproof comfortable room. Kind regards.

Anon what you speak of is true. But our friend here is 77 yrs old. Different time, different cultures. Different ways to process things, including children. We must show grace. Beatrix was sincere. So we must be too. 🙂 blessings.
I have noticed that fewer mothers take their children to the "Mom's room" these days. This is unfortunate, because the issue is not praise. If the children were praising God, we would all celebrate with them. What happens, instead, is that their unhappiness--boredom, hunger, irritation, colic, even illness--is ignored by the parent, while the child's cries make it impossible for the people sitting nearest to hear the minister; and often distract other listeners from the message. So in fact, it's not a positive thing for either the church or the child to let these issues go unaddressed. Mothers, it's ok to go and attend the needs of your little ones. Most churches have a sound system installed in the mother's room, so you don't need to miss the program. It's also kind for one or more of the ladies in the congregation to volunteer to go and sit with mom so she doesn't feel isolated and has someone to help with the child. Many years ago, I attended a church where one lady had two almost unbelievably energetic little boys. Two of us developed the habit of sitting with her (and them) in the mothers' room, so she could enjoy some peace and the sermon herself, while we helped to engage the children, or kept one occupied when she needed to deal with the other. I suspect it was about the only peace she had all week. Sometimes the best thing to do when a child is screaming in the sanctuary is to lovingly approach poor mom, and say very kindly, "Would you like me to come and help you in the mothers' room? There's toys and books, and we can listen to the sermon together."

In 2018 I became terribly depressed and the only way I could go to sleep was listening to pastor Doug's sermons, at the time I did believe that God would change the situation I was in but I don't believe in that any more and I still listen to him I find his messages comforting.

I’ll bet you didn’t wanna get out of that water once you jumped in there: with no rush to get back on that dry land in that hot heat, and possibly feel that way again: thirsty, hardly able to swallow or speak. America became so unbearable for African American's & Indigenous People's/The First American's here before Columbus in 1492, that there was a period when they did leave America. For them which had me scratching my head Freedom was England and France. Matter fact the people who as children integrated the High School in Arkansas Two of the now grown people left America and live off (I won't say where) in Europe. They got married there, had childern there, and they themselves are grandparents. They've only come back too America for award ceremonies when Bill Clinton wanted too honor them people had a heck of a time getting them to come back. I will be surprise if they are buried here in America before one asks it isn't Anger that they stay away it is Pain so much pain, I don't think any of us can possibly process that notion.

Wrong, look up Genesis 38, Numbers 36, Deuteronomy 25: 5 & 6, and the book of Ruth, particularly the last few verses. This woman wasn't immoral she was a victim of circumstances and was obeying the culture of the day and the Mosaic law when widowed.
What is wrong with some people? If you can't get yr child to behave in public, takes it outside, why should everyone else have to suffer? I'm trying to listen with headphones on and all I can hear is screaming! Are you doing it on purpose? Or are you just simply bad mannered! It makes one wonder if you care Godless or Satan influenced? Do you not care how many people you will put off listening to this message! Even the pastor had to point it out, I would have died of shame!! Either train yr child that screaming in church is wrong or take it out until it learns not to scream in church. In the old days you'd get a smacked bottom for that kind of behaviour, I'm glad times have changed but some days ....phew. behave? It's not cute or funny, I've noticed people in church laugh at their child's bad behaviour, no its not!
