I could say Elia is a star but no. She is a super-star. Her solo was first rate with such mature vocabulary. Scott is becoming or already is one of the all time great tenors. He’s up there with Coleman, Prez, John, Stan, Sonny, Dexter, Ben, Illinois, Stanley, Gene and Zoot. Scott’s tone is as wide as Rhode Island.

A somber samba? My education continues. Flawless, moving performance, of course.
