These are my favorite videos. And no one is doin them enuff. It's nice to know which ones truly macerate bc NOT ALL DO. Some are as weak as day 1. Keep them coming..
I legit hated Shaghaf Oud Tonka (plastic doll head) & Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited (bug spray/bathroom cleaner) when I got them. HATED. 😖After spraying them out & 2 months of maceration, I now actually like & wear them. The transformation they’ve gone through is amazing. Maceration is an absolute MUST for these middle eastern frags. Both the scent & the longevity improve over time. Not sure people know this, but the non-ME frags we buy have been macerated before being sold by the manufacturer, sometimes for up to 3 years. They’ve had to store them for that time…& you pay for it. These ME frags are cheap, in part, because they aren’t macerated. They leave that chore up to the buyer, but you pay less.
I can relate to the frustration with first interaction with some of these fragrances 🥲but yes , thank God for maceration! I have equally had designer fragrances which needed to go through that. Even some niche ones especially the fast market niche fragrances 😤
December Vanilla is so beautiful. I agree with you on qaed al fursan...the saffron in my has deepened over the year which makes it a bit less enjoyable for me. Love the hair and makeup.
I have learned with Lattafa and Middle Eastern perfumes you really have to let them macerate for quite sometime. Some of mine have set for long periods of time and Wow!!!!! They have become rich and niche deep in depth!!! Can you do a video on coconut perfumes? I love to wear them all the time. I always look forward to your videos because you do very well beautiful. I love love love love love Eternal Musk!!!! It smells soooooo elegant and rich!!!!! I bought it because of your recommendation.
I struggled with Qaeed as well but after a few months its actually become a signature scent 😅 most of my Middle Eastern frags I have had to let sit. Only a handful were good to go from day one 😊
I love those earrings...you look stunning, as always! What a timely video. I'm somewhat encouraged that you don't hate Le African Drummer as much as the last video. 😂 I dont know what I think of this. It confuses me. I can't say I hate it, but I'm not sure I like it either. Time will tell, I guess. It's a scent profile I should like, so I'm willing to wait a bit. December Vanilla I love! I tried the OG Kayali's Royal Sugared Patchouli, but that stuff knocked me out. I loved smelling it on others, but it gave me a colossal headache. 😬 This fragrance I find much easier to wear. 😊
It has improved for sure but to me, still not the best and I don’t think I will ever reach for it. But I will wait for a few more months and revisit. I got the earrings locally from a random jewelry shop ☺️☺️ Thank you🫶🏾
My Qaed Al-fursan arrived at mine shooting from the hip. She came already smelling beautiful - I guess I was lucky with this one I already know she’s a repurchase candidate. Wish I’d seen your other video about the Lady Drummer earlier. One reviewer claimed it was a dupe for Initio’s Musk Therapy hence my rush to purchase. I will declutter immediately on Mercari as I do not like it at all.
La African Drummer is so far from Musk Therapy. If you want a good one, check out Madison Alhambra Infini Musk. Yes Qaeed Al Fursan smells fine from the onset but it feels more smoother after months Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks so much. Since I know I will be doing these videos, I keep record of my initial impressions (write them down) and follow through a few more times and revisit after a while especially the ones I had issues with from onset or something really stood out upon first spray, whether and instant love, repulsive or very bad quality
Just got Opera Noir 3 days ago and it was good straight out of the box, I think it will get better the longer I have it. Love these videos, keep them coming ❤️
African drummer is one fragrance I wanted because of that beautiful picture, but the whole bottle design put me off. I also do not own any shaghaf oud fragrances, but been meaning to getting the Oud Tonka as I love Tonka fragrances. This review was quite helpful.
i haven't yet bought an arabian fragrance but I love that you have updates because it's helping me with my wishlist. I don't have access to samples or too many places accessible to me where I can smell before I purchase. I was able to try a few. I also love your look today. Hair, makeup and earrings are on point! Are your earrings available online or bought locally?
Thank you 🫶🏾 I am sure by the time you might probably be ready to get one, you will so knowledgeable about them that you will choose well because there are are lot of mediocre ones 😊😊
This lip colour...really really suits you. I need to come learn fashion from you sis. Love these kinda update videos, so it would give us an informed knowledge about the fragrance. Cheers!
@@adwoalovesfragrances5324 hehehehe there's nothing called cheap in this era again o, because the price of a seemingly cheap item is dragging price with some known expensive items nowadays 😅
Masa, I got the 20ml, and I'm hoping for improvement 🙏 not a fan right now. Shaghaf Oud Tonka is a love for me, and after maturation, yowza! 😊 it's different from anything in my collection. You are right about fragrance that uses low molecular density fragrance oils. They can come off as off-putting for some. Giving off, "cat box, rotten fruits, diabetic urine, ammonia, fecal, cleaning product..." it depends on the individual, some will smell those things and some won't. The one I can't take is PC Carmel Cascade! To me it smells like mastic plastic doll head slightly sweet. Not everyone smells that, but I do. As for Casablanca, have you put your nose on Essance of Casablanca? More refined, vanilla dry down, better in my opinion. Thank you for your thoughts and have an awesome week ahead! 😀
I know right! Masa is hard to take. Took me four months to get to love it 😊 I will love to at least try Cassablanca extrait to compare. It sounds better as you are indicating👍
Awesome video great look! I'm noticing some of these fragrances can be really harsh I don't remember them being like that initially I don't know if they are cutting corners but with time, they can settle down a bit.
Greetings Obaapa.. Loving the content.. la African drummer reminds me of the chant from maison alhambra not feeling the scent bubble.. masa and after effect is a big love for me
❤ Thank you for another wonderful video dear Adwoa 🎉. So interesting to know if these improved and in what way. I am sure that I will get December Vanilla when it becomes available Down Under later this year. With love from Tasmania, Tia ❤😊
I have Casablanca for a few years now and the juice is much darker, it's now extremely strong and now has a pronounced oud. I hated Opera Noir when I just got it but after 5 months I can finally get the coffee and vanilla, I agree with you with Alive Now, it was love at first sniff, no maceration needed!! Thanks for sharing, more of these type of videos please.
Casblance did not do it for me. I let it macerate for 6 months. I wore it and could not smell it on me at all. It could of been a bad batch unfortunately for me
I started purchasing my summer freshies in February so they can be macerated by the June/July. African Drummer has a sharp note i dont understand. Its a nail polish smell.
Ive wanted December vanilla since it came out but i didnt bc EVERYONE was saying it's wayy softer than original. So i got scared and didnt buy. So u think uts gotten stronger with longevity
@@danashackleton3790I am waiting for December Vanilla to become available in Australia as well. When Adwoa did her first review of this I knew that I wanted it. 😊
Oh I actually have vibrant vertiver delight but have not tried the OG. Mine hasn’t changed to the point where I feel it has become completely different. Thanks for sharing your experience especially as one who has tried both 👍❤️
One thing for certain and two for sure I ain’t waiting a year for a man to get his life together much less a fragrance 😂 That perfume got 2 months max to macerate or it’s outta here!✌🏾
I have had mine for about 4 months and as I said in the video, I feel it still need some more time but it has improved in terms of getting smoother and a little more stronger that it’s initial state. Thanks for sharing 🫶🏾❤️
