Same old 'Us vs Them' India-Pak Formula or Something New?? |  

I watched Fighter in IMAX 3D and honestly the visuals were brilliant , i mean come on its a 250cr budget movie and we have such great vfx by DNEG . Hrithik roshan's screen presence is next level , what aura , what looks man ... the drama scenes in the second half is impactful and the pre interval and climax fight is goosebumps guarenteed. OVERALL WORTH WATCH IT ON BIG SCREEN

Lakshya had done this before for Indian Army what Top gun has done for US navy. Good thing is that both has got Hrithik involved in it.

This movie is India's "TOP GUN" and instilled inner courage to serve the nation, not necessarily by joining the IAF but through any other possible aspect that contributing to the nation of India.

I watched Fighter yesterday in 3D...movie is excellent ...action level is literally mind blowing...story is also perfect...my rating 4.5 out of 5.....half mark cut for adding romantic part in movie. Guys, must watch movie h.

Fighter was good. I liked the movie when i left the theatre then all the top gun copy-paste kept coming into my mind and mood spoiled but now with half a day gone after the movie i can appreciate all the sid-anand's touch in the movie and the extra effort which you wont see from bollywood much in the last decade being done here in a commercial A-lister movie.

Watched this movie today on Netflix. Unfortunately, I could not watch in cinema hall as it was short lived here in Melbourne. Apart from copy paste TopGun scenarios, the movie is good and a must watch. I liked the fact all characters get to shine on screen and it’s not a one man show. However, after getting used to watching Hollywood movies, I can clearly see how those song - dance situations break the rhythm and take viewer’s mind off the actual narrative. In a romantic movie, these sequences do well to the mood but in a movie as this , it is just hindrance. Rest, too much underplaying of enemy in last scene. But again … it’s Bollywood !

I hope Sid Anand Sir make another War based movie but this time on Indo-China Front. That way even if many sequences he may have to borrow from somewhere else, the fresh story will cover any content based issues and people will get to see another important part of indian army's life. Its sad that we have so many indo-pak movies but absolutely nothing on china, who in reality has done more harm to India as a nation than pakistan and will be the main obstacle for us in the coming decades. It'll also get far more global acknowledgement as western public is quite a lot anti-china these days but sadly there soldiers have never been in direct war against china in long time nor there movie industry will ever do something that will close their second biggest market for them. But this way an Indian movie can get international recognition and more collection as well. So far only Sid looks to be the only person who can pull it off.

Fighter was an awesome movie. It was visually stunning, the VFX were fantastic. The music was also really good. Above all the acting by Hrithik and Anil Kapoor and the supporting cast was brilliant. It’s a really entertaining movie. The only reason this movie has not made 500 or 600 cries is because it has a VERY TECHNICAL and uses a lot of technical Air Force terms which many lay people may not understand. In addition the second reason is that it is not a typical masala movie with “Dusham Dusham” fighting. I firmly believe this is one of Hrithik’s best movies!

Indian people should encourage this brave initiative of aerial action It's wonderful experience. Sid anand presented it with patriotism,Romance,drama,Music don't miss this.May be u won't see a film like this in ur lifetime. Everyone's career best work. #Fighter #FighterReview

Just watched it today with my family in Delhi in 3D & he's right! It's not so good and not so bad but a balanced movie i felt.. digestible movie with top notch action and Vfx since it is Hollywood level 🎚️ this time! I really enjoyed the dog fights and the rest were fine too 👍🏻

What Siddharth Anand does amazingly well is the subtlety of representation. Combating stereotypes of women in the airforce and offering alternatives to the bad muslim stereotype by pitting a patriotic one against a Godless one. I dont see any other director taking these stereotypes head on and this is Sid Anand's masterpiece, no doubt.

The dialogues are awesome and not cringy. Us vs them is absolute legit because we are different nations and idelogies. After what ISI/Pak Army and deep state has done to our soldiers and country in general , this is the least level of embarrassment that we can make them experience on a global level on an entertainment platform. Hrithik is no less than Tom Cruise so even if its copied , at least we dod a good job. Overall great movie. I am not sure why Mr Deshbhakt feels so perturbed whenever someone makes a movie which puts our neighbour state in a tight spot.

6:00 the most hilarious and ironic dialogue. Indians should google the meaning of shaheed, they will stop using it for good.

I have watched Fighter.. Seen a fight!! Pros: 1. Hrithik, Deepika fired the scenes 2. Air force sequels were excellent 3. Emotions, Actions, Story line were well balanced. 4. Songs @ precise moments 5. VFX didn't damage the theme. Justified Cons: 1. Film name should have been Attituder or Insubordinator 2. Air force could penalise more for the character behavior 3. Pakistani Air force was portrayed as weak throughout the film 4. The main villian Akhtar's character could have been handled by some one else. 5. Ground Operations were shown very weak. 6. Once the No Fly instructions were made, Pakistani Air Force could have attacked momentarily. 7. Doesn't gelled well the transfer order made from Kashmir to Hyderabad. 8. It was obvious that Rocky would call back his best fighter Patty back to the team. Had that feeling since the first half. 9. Didn't understand how come Patty could enter back to Srinagar Air Force Station without any proper orders from Hyderabad. 10. Dance moves from Hrithik were just at average only. Could have expected more. Overall I would say 9/10. Hrithik just nailed his come back.

Just to clear something out: Shaheed is an Islamic term. Shaheed(شهيد) is an arabic word which means witness (noun). If a MUSLIM dies in battle he is a shaheed, meaning a witness of Allah(swt). So the prerequisite of being a shaheed is to be a Muslim. If a non Muslim dies in battle, he is not a shaheed. Also There are several categories of shaheed: 1. Someone who dies, after getting buried under a building. 2. Someone who dies by drowning (except suicide, which is a major sin in islam). 3. A woman who dies during childbirth 4. Someone who dies in a fire 5.someone who dies in battle.

Good review but in actuality the cobra maneuver was first displayed by the Su-27 which the IAF Su-31 MKI is an advanced version of. Pakistan Air Force F-16 which is shown in the movie and is it's most capable fighter cannot and has not proven to be able to do the cobra maneuver! So this movie is factual on this technical aspect too Akash

It's a IAF based movie there is nothing to do with top gun !The costumes,styles are showing Indian air force which founded way before top gun .and maneuvers are basic which is used by every good fighter pilots.it's made on 8% budget of Top gun still quality is on par with TG.. Aerial action very hard to make and there is no successful movie in this genre in India so Indian people should encourage this brave initiative of aerial action It's wonderful experience. It's not up to HRithik standards. He always stood for perfection but I don't see that. Green color for jet, cringeworthy dialogues copying from top gun. Unnecessary dialogues. Not so great VFX while top gun was filmed using real jets. Even the G force u could see and feel on his face which is what I expected from Hrithik. This is a Salman Khan film.

What a fiction 😅 10 fighters jets 2 helicopters , 2 wingman and 30 army men of Indian forces die in combat. Paf loses one fighter jet and pilot and one isi agent. One double agent in burqua dictates iaf person. Iaf suspended guy hijacts a Sukhoi and goes to Pak for fighting. Operation balakot told operation bandar. Hrithik beats up isi guy with hand and saves everyone. Hows the Josh is how is ghosh and the entire station says breaking rules is ok even if court marshal is thrown upon them. What kind of movie making is these! Iafs valour has been decimated with clown type fighter guys who always gets locked in from behind in combat 😮 Pakistan jams our radio signals also and we come to know it when the helicopter is dropping commandos . Hrithik Roshan has maintained his physical fitness to the apex levels.. Ever since his first movie... That's what makes him a versatile actor...

One movie you should review is 12th Fail, has a great message and is very motivating and has positive vibe, may be it should have been released in theatres instead of OTT, Bollywood must make like this, perfectly helmed and presented, no stars but great performances by all actors...

My 2 cents: The first half of the movie builds up the narrative very well, while the second-half is a patriotism tearjerker with focus on teamwork and of course, nationalism. The "Baap Kaun Hai" monologue seems to be a little out of place. Overall, the movie is an entertainment extravaganza with absolutely no dull moment. The songs and the background score are very aptly and strategically placed in the movie, and add value to the storyline. Unfortunately, there will be references to the movie "Top Gun Maverick"; especially with respect to the flight maneuvers, which is inevitable as that movie had raised the bar high for aerial action and Fighter, despite being a totally original idea, some flight maneuvers remain similar. This similarity is there and should be there as these are basic flight maneuvers practiced by every country's airforce. Other than that, there's another letdown that I observed, with respect to the 3D quality, which is not up-to-the-mark. This movie should be watched over and over again, but in 2D. Summary: Excellent tribute to the Indian Air Force
