@Orthodox UNATCO hater How is the ancient and current history of my people, as well as my inherent spiritualty a LARP? It played a key role in my life before I was even aware of it's existence; influencing all of my actions. It flows through my very veins right now, unlike those who say they are Romans or Monarchists.
The Sami wear the traditional "Joker" face paint whenever they have the remembrance day for how the Norwegians targeted gamers, the most oppressed minority.
@Akaneve You're partially right, but not every Sámi community was centered around reindeer hearding. There are a wide variety of Sámi cultures and languages that existed across northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, and the Kola Peninsula. Beyond reindeer hearding, the Sámi also historically engaged in fishing, sheep herding, and fur trapping. About 10% of people who are Sámi today are involved in the reindeer industry. I met 2 Kurdish men a couple years ago. They said they wished their people would live the same fate as us Sami: To atleast be seen as equals in their own homelands. One day this will happen. My grandparents never thought we would be seen as equals when they were beat in boarding schools just for speaking their language, but today we are more or less equal. Good luck to the people of Kurdistan, one day you will be free!
@@Vuosta Thanks Man we hope to be free and have our own state and That’s today what we’re fighting for That those countries (Turkey,Syria,Iraq,Iran) have no respect for Kurds and Kurdistan and Our people We hope gain independence soon
@@a.v.j5664 one of the numerous Languages that derive from proto-sami (or something similar), Or the best may be to create a language that Melts the most important Sami language
Sámi languages are a part of the samic branch of finno-ugric languages, the languages that are closest to sámi languages are in the balto-finnic branch which includes finnish and estonian
@@a.v.j5664 Also, as you indicate, there isn't actually ONE sami language, but multiple. In Norway there is North Sami (the biggest both in Norway and overall), South Sami and in between Lule Sami; these are official in many municipalities; both in Norway, Sweden and Finland and they are guaranteed some protection and the states try to revitalise them I guess. In Sweden there is also Ume sami, and Finland has northern, enare/inari and skolti sami. And then Russia has some as well. Some sami languages has already died though and the remaining ones often have fewer than a dousin speakers. So when speaking about "the sami language" we most often mean northern sami, which makes up like 80-90% of the total sami speakers. The difference the different sami languages is quite big; both in syntax and phonetics; it's basically like calling icelandic and german the same language tbh, so yeah, more a linguistic branch like the germanic languages, the only real difference being no sami tribe has ever had their own state albeit them being some of the oldest people in all og Europe (probably the oldest if we seclude the basque, and the balto-finnic and the other uralic peoples). Also, there are many young people singing in their sami tung, especially in Norway afaik, but Finland also has some rapping in enare sami. So idk, go check that out if you are interested, there's everything from joik to heavy metal and rock 'n roll.
@@sofiaormbustad7467 you forgot about Pitesami it is still spoken by some in Norway and Sweden but is critically endangered, umesami used to exist in Norway but the last speakers of it has long since perished
28th of October is coming my friend! Can you please upload a greek song of the WW2. Like "Duce puts on his Uniform" (Βάζει ο Ντουτσε τη στολή του "Vázi o Duce tin stolí tu")
I'm a swede with sámi ancestry and this made me very happy. Allthough a huge majority of my dna is scandinavian I'm proud of the very little sámi blood I have flowing through my veins. I'm thinking of learning the sámi language that my ancestors spoke simply to honour them and help to prevent the extinction of the sámi languages. Long live sápmi!
"ingen" is a swedish, norwegian and danish word and it means "no one". There are sami people who live in both sweden and norway but not in denmark. So it could be true, I guess.
Better share some anthem of Turkish Republic or Azerbaijan instead doing every shape of arm*nian and k*rdish kamasutra pose. Like "Qarabağ marşı", Kürşad marşı, and so on.
First of all, it's Norwegian. And, there are versions in different languages. "Sami" is not one language, it's a group of languages. That's why it's hard to write a song that fit all Sami languages.
@@Peter.the.tumbler I live in Finnmark in norwegian sápmi and can tell you there is one. Here is the defination of a nation: _a large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting a particular country or territory._ Sápmi checks out all those boxes
