Twas written for Dave Vanian [The Damned] Check them/him out. Understanding this - [no less the history between these bands and times of activity, locales, etc] will help this contrast of textures make more sense [all the sense] But, yours is apt, nonetheless. [it's just that I'm] Your friendly [Hail Satan] neighborhood know-it-all.
I was in a punk band 1986-1990 when I was a teenager. We covered this song and it sounded great except our 15 year old singer couldn't sing like this but his older brother in college could. Sometimes we were lucky enough to have a gig when he was back from college and would do us a solid. If he wasn't home we would push the tempo to 110 and it was arguably as good to some as his brother. Change the playback speed to 1.25 and imagine Keith from the Circle Jerks singing and you'll get an idea of what it sounded like.
Awesome pictures of Samhain. Initium was the first album I bought of Glenn's music back in 1986 when I was a teenager. Here I am 53 years old, and I still love this album.
Didnt skate in the 80s but I know what you mean, Glenny just did a tour my brother and my a lot of my friends went to in Newport Ky and I understand all of it. He hits home for me as well as my upbringing.
Yes, indeed. But true fans know how special these guys are. Present tense. They are STILL special. Amazing work. Unique! Even for that time. Never lame. Never " above ground" too much haHa whatever🤷♀️Just real. Just right on. Just beautiful. Love them forever.
@@stacyblue1980I love this comment. It’s so true. And you would only know if you were a TRUE fan of Glenn’s work. It’s like our own special lil secret and I prefer to keep it that way 😉
Absofuckinglutely…..and also so thankful that all the quirks, grit , brutality and slop kept it off the masses radar…..it’s truly for the underground mindset…it’s ours forever….
Oooooo I love this comment as that’s literally the mood here w the window open stiff autumn breeze blowing on this Asheville night…my skin head to toe chills and my mind firmly locked into myself 40 yes ago….
I remember seeing a custom drawn poster at Roadhouse Records in Montebello, CA announcing something along the lines of "From the ashes of The MISFITS, comes SAMHAIN." It was there for years. I bought Initium simply for the cover. I thought it was Glenn's other band and The Misfits just taking a break because 85-87 you couldn't escape the exposure of The Crimson Ghost T Shirts. It was almost like overkill.
Producer? Or do you mean being casted all over the media and pronounced as the "New Thing" every young teeny bopper wants to hear. Id rather keep it original and keep the Record execs out of it and give it to me RAW rather than what I think people want to hear.
@@mushje I mean someone who is competent to set up and use a mixing board or will hire someone who is. This is one of the muddiest sounding records I have ever heard.
Listen/sing along #8 the tears start flowing and I’m fighting them back but if Danzig taught me anything about punk it’s that you gotta fuck every rule that even dares subconsciously imply itself….I couldn’t find this posted for many months….thank you!!!!!!
Not a chance. My 14 year old daughter has my taste in music. We traveled to Virginia this summer from Florida to see Danzig at a festival. It was a pretty good crowd, but apparently not enough for my daughter. Half way through the set she looked at me and said: "I don't think this crowd is giving Danzig the respect he deserves." One of my proudest moments.
Is there a scientific reason danzigs head has increadsed in size exponentially???? Im fucking serious thre only other person ive ever seen this happen to is dani filth hes head its now too big physically for his tiny body it has to be a medical condition
Idk about Danzig or Dani filth but I believe joe Rogans head is huge from hgh or trt. Some people just have big heads though. My head is bigger than it should be and I never took any of that stuff
