can you give me a little context? why do people criticize the sequencer on the sp and why here it's shown it's true potential. I know it's a lot to ask haha but it be cool to know
@@graphicscard oh ok i thought it was a direct problem with the sp's sequencer, like it was bad or something. Yeah of course there's people who hate quantization, what a dumb question haha
@@linospaghi4265 the main problem with the sequencer is the fact, that the polyphony is limited to 12. that means 12 mono samples or 6 stereo samples can be triggered simultaneously . but thats also part of his style. his beats dont have many layers of samples due to this limitation. but he rocks and kills it anyways
that boi got the screwed up clique towel rag in the background, salute. ive always heard of this producer thru earl and liked his beats but never quite followed him..i am now a fan
Your album “animals have feelings” is so god damn good dude. The sound is everything I tried to make while making beats but you nailed it. I even have the sp404
Arturraa lol its not hard dude, its just about the samples. He uses vinyl and the mixing and mastering has a lot to do with as well. In fact you can make beats coming from ableton sound like a sp 404 or any other vintage hardware.
@@jamilnasim874 it's a unique groove ofcorse there are other lofi artist but not exactly the same plus he birthed half of these cats out here check your facts. Same with flylo and madlib.
@@djjaysunx lol I know exactly what you mean and I’m well aware of the history. But as a participant in the culture, I’m more hip to cats you never heard of.
So he's essentially sampling all his live instruments into the SP whilst making the beat? I'm guessing that's so he can mix the instruments using the onboard effects on the SP because that way it will glue together better?
I don't know who you are but I'm studying in Korea this spring and we should definitely meet up because we both like Samyam what more is there to know?
This is dope! But I'm wondering how hes playing the synth while the the beat is playing. I dont own a 404sx but I've always heard that it's not possible to play back a pattern and hear the input at the same time. My guess is the synth must be output to the 404 and mixer/monitors. Or am I missing something?
DJ OuvidoPai the sx does too!! I do it all the time, have a drum pattern playing in the sequencer while I have a sample playing from an external output
@@aldali724 I got a 404A finally. You're right it also does this but once you put it in record your playback stops. So you can't easily record overdubs. I've been using a metrenome to keep time, it takes a bit of trim the start point to sync it up.
Yup its fuckin hard lol, the 404 doesen't have that much to it so comparing it to a DAW (like fl studio or ableton) that has like unlimited options, you dont have that many on the 404 so you gotta get creative with it namean
