My fellow samoans, onosa'i, this aint no competition. Theres always next time for a better group of performers for Samoa, for now let it be, who cares if American Samoa had younger, energetic and faster movements, at least Samoa displayed something, they tried their best, just give them some credit for representing us. But i will say i wish that they let Moemoana finish her siva but it is what it is. Malo lava le tapua'i Samoa. Well done Teachers ❤
It’s not a competition, but at least do it right. They lacked speed, energy and vigor. They got the graceful part right, but should mix it with vigor and speed, especially the siva tau, which was a bit lame because of lack of aggressiveness and speed.
This is the best of Samoa. This is the all teachers group representing The Independent State of Samoa. Showing that Samoa is well educated and respected. Showing that Samoa got class. E lē lelei le fa'akusakusa kagaka. 👌😇👍💯🌺
Samoa is here to educate and perpetuate our culture not for entertainment purposes. Kakou ogosai ia. Malo tapena Samoa ma Am. Samoa. Aloha 🤙 born n raise 808
@@theephraimite Yes. Showcasing our culture and also to entertain. That’s why it’s called “fa’afiafiaga”. If entertainment is not involved then might as well just sing and tell stories.. Our dance are meant to entertain as well.
Malo Lava Samoa! Mad Love to the teachers, they were awesome and definitely the right group to represent Samoa, they brought back the old vibes with there dances and tunes something the Amerika Samoa can’t bring to the table.. while they showcase the more modern Samoan dances and tunes with screaming and shouting, Independent Samoan definitely showcase our heritage with grace and Dignity, Love to Am Samoan, both nation showcase something different new and original 💯🇼🇸🔥
But at least ia te au ia ma lo'u ia mafaufauga i le vaaiga o le latou siva faaleaganu'u, they tried their best to perform the original Sāmoan dance and singing. Cause they were the ones who created the culture and reason why we will continue to keep the original way of singing and dancing alive.
E iai avanoa e foa'i tatou aganu'u fa'asamoa i le lalolagi - e iai fo'i avanoa e mafai ona silasila atu fa'afiafiaga fou a samoa - Teuila, Polyfest, Miss Samoa etc. Alofa atu ia le au faiaoga samoa mo latou siva ma pese matagofie.
@@theephraimite yup, acknowledging the history of the Teacher's involvement. Just thinking back the opening speech around this festival being an *opportunity* to showcase culture, language and identity. This would have been an opportunity to also showcase our talented younger generation such as the likes of Moemoana. No competition. Here's hoping they can include our young generation as well.
@@naeeanvideosYes, was hoping for that too. We have an amazing youth back home who loves to perform and they are amazing at it. Was hoping this year it was their chance to do it for Samoa however, it is what it is. Big Props to the faia’oga regardless they did their best.. Next time I hope they will bring on our youth.
honestly, this is the best way of representing samoa. This is the FestPac of pacific art and CULTURE. What better way then to show the original siva samoa. honestly, the youth are amazing, but samoa is a place that holds the SAMOAN culture, n they take nothing for granted. So yes, this is the best way to rep samoa. Alofa atu ❤
@@Chris-zo1vm No it isn’t. Our culture is about great vocals and with great performance. Let’s not lie this was lazy work and they did not sing in tune nor have enough energy. Go back and watch our elders, they sang beautifully and we’re more energised. This year they lack that.. Also why not let our youth represent us for once this year?.. We can show our culture to the world with an amazing put together performance.
They are using traditional instruments, pese gutu ma siva, modern ausiva use musical instruments and RU-vid for performance so my understanding is they are not there to compete but to showcase our aganuu.
People 🇼🇸🤦♂️Stopped complaining about how boring they a doing whats best for 🇼🇸 ma le mea ga sau ai Samoa e leo iloa e kakou se mea lae mafaufau iai lakou ma le ala ua fai ai la Siva so my points lets Keep smile and support them with all our Faku...❤❤❤❤
Ua kumu i loomakukua ma kamaloloa ae le faaoga aku aukalavou. Ua akili ga pe. Next time please let our young people represent Samoa and give them the exposure they need to develop their talents. Malolo mai faiaoga ia ua makukua kele koe boring
Samoa should have Siva Samoa trials. To choose a national team to rep Samoa in the international level. Young, fit, talented preferably not obese able to perform without limitations. Also we need new peses and sivas and fresh arrangements. Lots of these sivas are pasiā. Make it happen in advance to prepare for next PAF. Fa’afetai.
TOTALLY AGREE sole i was looking forward ile kakou group uma kagaka le kalai ai "i can't wait for Samoa" sole ae omai Samoa sole ole mala le mea - makukua koe vave sesela ua kau le lagona gi leo, ma le isi mea e look forward lava lakou i kaualuga pei lava g o e su'e kupe.
That’s because Samoa used old people. At least they used real Samoan instruments like the pate and real Samoan singing. Amelika Samoa was also plastic and used a kalone lapisi. Oka se mataga.
@GeorgeSilulu siva oukou gae koe o copy mai siva a kamaiki upolu gai luga RU-vid ioe.
The singing needs to be worked on. The ladies keep trying to fa’akekeke their voice - just sing the real samoan way. Go back to how the og teachers group performed. E o’o fo’i i siva, what happened to the siva o le ‘ie toga, siva o le siapo, lamaga fe’e etc. ? Ae malo pea le taumafai i nai faiaoga🙏🏽
The problem with using teachers is that many are old. So they lack energy, speed and agility that is needed. They got the graceful part down alright; just lacking in energetic and vigorous movements that Amelika Samoa has because most of their dancers are young. Amelika Samoa has faults to for using a kalone lapisi and other things. So embarrassing. I have roots in both Samoas and root for both. Malo tapua’i.
because Amerika samoa is more modernized. Yes the older the slower, but the siva samoa was never like how it is nowadays. Things change i get it, but honestly, change the people not the culture. If you compare nowadays siva samoas to traditional siva samoa, you will definitely see a difference. Manuia le aso ❤
@@Chris-zo1vm when it comes to Samoan dances like the sasa and siva tau, it must be done with speed and vigor. There is nothing modern about that; it’s the proper way of doing it. When it’s the ma’ulu’ulu, it should be a good balance of gracefulness and a bit of vigor and speed. Amelika Samoa had it right on the speed and vigor of their movements, but the drumming and and singing was plastic; whereas the other Samoa just lacked energy.
@@theephraimite since when did ma’ulu’ulu need speed and vigour? It needs gracefulness, meaning and good singing (which lacked this year). The Am. Samoan group had energy and were entertaining, but they didn’t show any traditional fa’afiafiaga samoa, except the taualuga, which was one of the main points of the festival. The teachers were pa’ulua and lacked energy, but they did a good job in showcasing Samoan tradition.
Man this is the most boring performance of the day. I bet everyone was falling asleep 😅 Damn American Samoa was the best to watch. Gaka a faafiafiaga ia back in 1901. So boring
