I think it does not matter how good the master is. The important thing is how passionate you are about martial art, and a true understanding of the concept. With regular training I am sure any one can be good enough to defend themselves in a real fight.

It's a demo dude, this man has fought real death fights in Indonesia, the indonesians do not use guns, they use bladed weaponry since the guns are illegal to be used by civilians. How can you expect to see a real life attack in a drill like this? The most important thing is to demonstrate the principle and keep training.
@Aidan Fisher You are so stupid and idiot to think that this move is not effective, you never train for it, so how could you say it will not work? These moves are effective if they become muscle memory, meaning, thousands of repetitions, creating fast reflex. Of course they are useless if you never train in this art. There are many locks and chokes in BJJ that used to be considered useless and complicated or too fancy in the past, then the practitioner train those moves 8 hours a day, thousands of repetition and sparring, trying to apply them on the opponents, then those moves become muscle memory, they are effective in the end.
