I absolutely enjoy how he chopped and sampled the titles in monster zero, in the original context they have absolutely nothing in common but when put together in the right way it was almost as if he was telling us a story. He really showed off with mashing together so many samples from music and pop culture just as a showcase of him cementing the fact that he is the best have to ever and will ever do this. RIP MF DOOM, the villian, the monster, the greatest....

DOOM is like Bumblebee from Transformers, he speaks through the samples

This adds some crazy dimension to an album I was already in love with. This is great work

God monster zero is such an insane track. Starts off with this catchy and very efficient sample, then it's an avalanche of sounds and samples from all over the place that create this sense of dread and chaos without taking away the musicality. Absolute genius 10/10 would get amnesia just to experience it again for the first time.

This video really breaks down the detail and the diggin that went into making just one of his songs. Legend

Monster Zero, by far, had the most work put into it. Imagine the time it took digging up that many samples, and then putting them together in a song in such a way that it creates an extremely vivid story about an apocalyptic scenario, a science experiment gone wrong.

"Monster Zero" 2:38 became my favorite song of the album after seeing all the samples/references thanks to this video

I cannot describe how much I love how this man used these clips to basically tell a story. like I listend to this whole album so often I imagined a story for it and it just works weirdly perfectly.

I'll give u another gem about DOOM he didn't listen to a lot of hip hop... back in the day it was REDMAN whut thee album ,ultramagnetic mcs and Whole bunch of jazz.. He didnt even know who digable planets were and they was on the same label at the time... DOOM was 1 of the iLLest.. Very intelligent... SHOUT OUT TO THE GET YOURZ POSSE LONG BEACH NY

The use of samples on Monster Zero is a fucking Mastercraft I can't believe the creative mind MF DOOM had

The way he pulls scenes together to create a story is just insane. It’s like he just knew what went together and what to pull from its fucking insane.

Sample breakdown videos are my favorite on RU-vid, but when it comes to DOOM sample breakdown, it hits ENTIRELY different

I love how the story of the album is stiched together with samples obviously but whenever Ghidorah or King Ghidorah is said, it always cuts through and sounds so bold and distinct even from the other parts. For example when it goes " i do call myself an expert but im sorry to say ive never seen KING GHIDORAH ". Its like when something gets redacted and edited on t.v and someone dubs over the censored word. For me it adds a ton of mystique to the whole story and character haha

I mean this video really is the best MF DOOM tribute someone has ever done. Getting those samples ID'd hasn't been easy and is a project with many people that has taken nearly 20 years, with the Fazers sample still undiscovered. Take the Next Levels sample. A Dutch fan spent over 1 year full time trying to ID the SAMPLE, as the leads were very weak. Only after incredible effort and sheer determination, with VHS copies being flown around the world, and also incredible luck because the Jazz Impressions show is very obscure he managed to track it down. But it took so much effort and time. But I'm so sad that the Fazers sample is still unknown. For no reason, also. What's worse, is that MF DOOM didn't take it to his tomb. There's one person alive that knows what is exactly the Fazers sample. Fazers was co-produced by a guy called E Mason, who's alive and who showed the famous porno to MF DOOM. So he knows it and he's keeping quiet. But I cannot comprehend why after these many years he still wouldn't reveal which porno. If he doesn't want to become public, he just needs to create a throwaway account. That's all. Also, why none of the multiple artists, audio engineers, label producers, etc, and parties involved in the production of a huge artist like DOOM have any information about how his tracks were produced? I mean we're talking he made this song in 2002/2003 not the 1940s. So why no one around him keeps drafts of his tracks, or computer archives with perhaps a longer cut of the sample? Why is a grainy interview the only lead about the Fazers sample? Why was he never asked follow up questions like "you said in this 2003 interview the sample came from a 70s porno, do you still have the original VHS tape"? Who has the VHS tape? Did no one ever asked personally MF DOOM about the sample other than that interview? Does his family keep safe any papers which may shed light on the sample? Why the information is so hard to get and almost always is not the hip hop artist or their friends who reveal any clues. It's the fans having to dig so deep to try to get answers. I suppose we'll never know, unless there's another Dutch guy willing to go through all the pornos between 1975 and 1979 with skinny dudes with cowboy boots...

He took all these different cultures and mediums from different time periods and spun them together so seamlessly. It's nothing short of genius. Very well made and edited. Thank you very much for making this! RIP to the legend MF DOOM.

You really have to think about the amount of work it took for monster zero alone. He had to figure out what he wanted to say, watch each movie/show and find the specific part, then mix it all together and make it work. And this came out in 03 no less. When I first heard it I thought it all came from one movie.
