You gotta give it to Zoia and Deluge for not stocking up the landfill with multiple versions of their instruments. I hope it all adds up financially for them because giving major updates 6 years after release of the product is truly generous.
this is so cool! The Zoia is the only sampler I know that can have a predefined sample "container" that you can record into. Meaning you can create a silent sample of a specific length and then record into it, overdub etc. This thing can do so much and this update makes it even more powerful…the OCTATRACK of fx pedals!
This is exciting… Cuckoo is the ZOIA wizard , and 4.0 update …woohoo….looking forward to some creating some kind of granular ratcheting from audio output of bass station 2 in aphex mode , live audio input with intermittent recorder looper type thing with an LFO set record on/off . Based off this Great overview as usual…. 👾
You have a way with words that helps me better understand what you're doing, but I have no clue how you come up with these creative ideas in the first place! I love the pre-sliced single sample idea. Thanks Cuckoo!
Finally, even though I’m still discovering something new for me every time I use my Zoias… Updates went smoothly on both, one of them in dual mono for my direct guitar line and one in stereo after my synths. Cuckoo’s tutorials have always been incredibly helpful, firing up the GAS… though this time looks like he’s putting my Digitakt on notice…
Thanks mate. Yeah this update is changing the game for the ZOIA. You can create a LOT of solutions, overlapping into the lands of the Digitakt. But the Digitakt surely is very streamlined hands-on instrument, with a fast UI designed for performance. But not everyone uses the Digitakt to its full potential. Perhaps you just want some samples playing in a sequence.
Cuckoo! You should make some music on the Mega Synthesis! We would love to hear some new FM tunes and a break down on your thought process, similar to what you did with the Digitone.
I'm afraid most of the views on your Zoia vid are going to be mine... 😅 Played a bit today, and I think it seemed a bit more reactive when editing, but won't have time till the weekend to check out the sampling... So, thanks again for your great tutorials!
Thanks!! ❤️ Yeah I gotta get my hands on the Move. It seems nice. I hope they'll keep it around for a long time, and give it quality of life updates over years to come, like Empress here does with their ZOIA.
It certainly isn’t for everyone and is probably way too much for most folks. Modular in a box is a good analogy, it takes time to understand and learn.
It can handle a bunch of stuff, but the cpu isn’t infinite. Keep an eye on the corner of the display. There’s a % that reports how much resources is used.
While I was working on the patch for our launch video, I was able to run 2 sequencers that controlled 3 synths, plus another 4 sequencers that controlled a sampler each... AND I could run all that through reverb and compression modules! Sure, I was capping out at 106% memory when all 6 sequencers were on, but it still ran 😇
