Push into the water, pull plunger pump back, push down and back up until you have tight seal. PUSH BOTTOM HALF like a traditional plunger and hold pump handle while letting the bottom half slide up and down instead of pumping the water up and back into the drain

I get creating a tight seal, but aren't you supposed to use the handle to pump in water and then push handle down to blast the water out? Instead of pushing the bottom part up and down

Absolutely most disgusting plunger I have ever used. Plus if you take a dump in the bowl you can't see where to place the plunger to push the pressure...it's a never again for me

I suck up clean water then push down. I don’t use it for the toilet because I don’t want to pump up poo poo. I use for the kitchen and bathroom faucet. It’s $8.99 at Harbor Freight. I use the cheap dollar plunger from the dollar store for the toilet.

Water shouldn't be coming out of the top. if that happens you might have gotten a defect or different one.

You used it with too much water in the toilet. You got to use it when water level in toilet is low. Otherwise it’ll overfill.

Worked great on first use. After a year the seal dried up and it doesn't suck. Doesn't seem repairable either.
