I have had the honour of calling Chris Aylmer one of my best mates and he was one of the best bass players I have ever worked with. His dedication to Samson continued until his untimely departure, which he faced with his usual stoicism and bravery. To the good times me old mate.
I was a punk drummer as a teenager and all my beats and fills came mainly from two drummers Clem Burke and the often underrated Clive Burr. Just listen to his hi-hat work on this. Without intending to Clive influenced many punk drummers.
Damn Straight Clive Burr is Underrated!!!! I completely forgot He was in SAMSON. Clem Burke same thing, Incredible drummer. I met Clem in a corner market in NYC a few years ago, super nice guy!!!
@Steven McCarthy That’s good to hear. Yes also Praying Mantis, Gogmagog etc. I saw Clem with Blondie a few years back and his energy is unbelievable considering he’s in his sixties. I met DH Peligro, another of my favourite drummers as a kid, few years back and he’s a lovely geezer too.
@@misfit2022 I caught the DKs on their last go round, when Bedtime for Democracy was out. That shit was Unreal,it was one of my first handful of Hardcore Punk shows,blew My teenage mind apart!!!! I saw em in I guess it was mid 2000s?? When they had the other singer. They were FKN AMAZING!! The guy wasn't trying to be a Jello clone,he did his own thing. Just good Punk Rock singer. I meet DH then,He was great.
