I have the CAD 037... it's very super sensitive and picks up a lot of detail on the top end. For most purposes, I find myself having to do a lot of EQ to reduce sibilance and unwanted noise from the mic. But it captures a lot of detail.

This is an excellent video review. It is very helpful. I think the Cad U37 sounds very good with -10 db and bass roll-off switched on. It is a steal at $50.

the cad sounds very hissy until the -10db was enhanced. the samson had little reverb but was very good at capturing your voice. i personally think the behringer sounded the best it had the least amount of background noise and captured the voice the best

I'm going to check out all of your head to head videos just because your voice is so perfect as background while drawing. I love your accent! Lovely demonstration, too: sometimes people put too much info between each microphone's audio clip, while I thought it was very easy to remember each mic's quality as you went and demonstrated. I'm kind of sold on the C01U, to be honest. I don't think I caught whether you said how you had to set the gain on each, which would have been useful to know if you had to raise it a lot for the Behringer as that's the complaint I've heard from most reviews. Unless I missed it or you started doing this already: could you please also pre-face each by saying how the gain is set? Ta!

Hi, you could adjust the gain in the control panel on your computer. to be honest I cannot remember the exact setting I used now, but I seem to think it was on about 80%. Out of these three mics I would pick the C01U. I thought the Behringer was way to quiet even if I turned the gain right up to 100%. Gosh, never thought of myself as a backing track for drawing :)

Ta! I think it depends: some people really need no words whatsoever, whereas I prefer to listen to people talking about stuff while I draw (unless I'm designing, rather than rendering).

Hi. Behringer could do better. You have to change recording level in Windows configuration drive. By default is very low. Just, increase to 100, and the recording level (without editing) would be similar to the others.

I tried one, I thought it would be good for Zoom calls, but couldn't get the audio level to a usable volume no matter how I set the inputs...

One should point out the CAD U37 can be had for under $40 if you watch Amazon prices and is going up against $60 and $90 mikes [current Az pricing.] For the price point, it will likely serve the average RU-vidr or podcaster quite well.

I have the behringer c1-u, i récord with fl studio (using asio4all) and the mic level at 75% and the volume of recording is really nice, not low like you say, i record in my bedroom and have less noice background than your vídeo (no editing or effects added). I think its a nice mic.

Behringer 37 euro - Samson 98 Euro.... Behringer my choice.. Human voice 200-2000 Hertz... It's difficult to hear sound quality difference . Sound volume can be adjusted. If we compare spectrum Behringer I think is better. Thank you for the video.

That Samson CO1U Pro seems the well rounded one in the bunch. It picked up well and gave a flat response. The CAD is too high biased even if all switches were turned off.

I assume the thread on top of the U37 tripod is a 1/4" camera mount?

I cannot remember to be honest, I no longer have the U37. I seem to remember you can attach the U37 to a standard microphone stand, then it had an adapter so you could attach it to the desktop stand it came with. But unfortunately I don't know what the thread was on the desktop stand. Sorry

The first one (Behringer-C1U) it sounds like some of the noise-reduction cuts out some some bands. Doesn't sound very full. By the way... isn't the adjective for popping quality "plosive" or something, not "explosive"? :P

hi all these recordings have been made without any production, so that is what the mics sound like out of the box. You may well be right about plosive ... :)

Yeh I mean it seems to have internal noise compensation that compromises clarity and removes certain frequency bands wholesale which is not what you want. I'm guessing that it does that but either way it sounds dull I think. Reading my comment back, `plosive' sounds right. :P

It sounds very good, though I did thing the level was very low, though it might just have been the one I tested. Personally the Samson does sound the best to my ears. I was looking at the Behringer but was somewhat put off by the numerous reports of low output. Fortunately our local Musical Instrument store does both (and has a quiet room for testing). The Samson certainly did sound better "in the flesh", and was therefore an easy choice, especially as it is really a "plug and play" video editing voice-over solution! Thank you for an excellent comparison - and you have a new subscriber!

Cad u37 is the worst in this review ,brings a lot of the sibilance in the voice , it's like having a mediocre mic with some extreme hi-frequency boost.C01u is clear and comparable to much more expensive mics ,it has clear quality sound,great for vocals/podcast (altough a little hiss ,but it can be removed with noise reduction software). behringer sounds a little muffled compared to the c01u. C01u is the winner !

So, I bought the Samson CO1U. Sent it back. I found the background circuit hiss to be more than I wanted to, or thought I should have to, contend with. If the previous version was even noisier, I'm appalled. You have a lovely voice, by the way.
